Movies are my favorite art form and to see the story and characters unfold on the screen is just magical. With that said I would recommend this movie called Klaus, it literally is my favorite animated movie I seen this year. It's a heartwarming film that has a unique take on the "Christmas" origin, at first I thought this would be another cliché animated flick but I was so wrong. There are parts that made me laugh so hard and other times ALMOST made me cry, despite the film being sappy it is a cute and fun movie that kids and adults will enjoy.

So the plot is about a spoiled, lazy and self-centered son of a Royal Postmaster General named Jesper getting sent or rather forced into a mission to head to the Northern Island to post 6,000 letters within a year or else he can never come back to the royal palace. And on that island he encounters the village folks with children and two feuding rival clan members at each other's throat. Also while on the island he also meets a teacher turned fishmonger Alva and a giant old man named Klaus who is a wood worker, they will play a big part in changing the postman's destiny.

This animated film has a strong moral worldview and themes of kindness, selflessness, and family. The movie shows how one selfless act can inspire many others, and that being kind and generous can change people for the better. What I also noticed is how the film highlights certain biblical values such as how one selfless act can inspire many others, how being kind and generous can change people for good, the movie celebrates childlike wonders and gratitude. This is not just another secular Christmas movie, I was not bored from beginning to end with this one, most of the characters are likable and memorable.

Despite me being old, cynical and jaded I still believe that kindness can be a beacon of hope because not only does it show humanity but it can work as a ripple effect that spreads to others and improves the world. Kindness can strengthen social bonds, foster a sense of belonging, and create networks and support. And like the director of this film said "I think it's true that if you see things in a positive way and put a positive spin on something and do something truly just out of kindness, it goes a long way. "People might forget what you said or how you looked but people will never forget how you made them feel."
