I just finished watching this series all the way through for the second, possibly 3rd time and since it had been awhile since the last watch I had forgotten much of the plot points and character outcomes so I had the pleasure of being surprised again. What a treat!! This is such an exceptional show. Set in classic NYC, the look and feel of this show is classic. The writing and directing is exceptional and the chemistry between Bomer and DeKay is a rare and beautiful thing to watch. Truly. I love this show and if you haven't watched it do yourself a favor and start binging now. The great Willie Garson is such a wonderful character actor and gives perfect balance to the main duo. Dianne Carroll adds the touch of class and Tiffany Theissan is a perfect FBI wife and balance to DeKay. The FBI cast is something out of a novel. The stories stand alone for the most part but also carry threads all the way through the series. Based loosely on a true story this show never disappoints. Great writing is key to any show and this one has it in abundance. During this watch-through, I found the reliable "good guys win over bad guys" was particularly refreshing. I needed that and it was a wonderful escape into idealism. If you've never seen this show, it's a real gem. Don't miss it!!
