Noah Hawley has done it again. Fargo in one of the best written, produced and directed series around. Not only the storyline gets more involving and multilayered episodes after episode, but also the dramatic progression keeps increasing, the tension keeps mounting. This quite simply excellent television, with a fantastic cast of very talented actors playing believable characters, with their past and motivations perfectly layered. This episode is just another essential piece of a great puzzle that's evolving constantly, keeping the viewers always on the edge of their seats. Intelligent, top quality drama/thriller.
Well, what can I say? This has been a pleasant surprise.
In a world in evolution four male friends are facing changes in the society that effects their own lives...
"Machos Alfa" approaches with irony topics that are serious and full of complexities. The result is a very enjoyable comedy in 10 episodes (but a second season has been confirmed) that is well written and supported by a cast that is just perfect.
I noticed that most of the very negatives comments are from men, and I am afraid that's because this series touches some 'exposed nerves' from little insecure and weak males. That level of nasty vitriol against the feminist movement seems to confirm that the show has hit the target. Well done.
Personally, I'm looking forward to season two.

The members of a rich family gather in the Veneto countryside, led by an ex-opera singer (Hella Petri). The occasion is the visit from Milan of his brother Nicky (Erland Josephson), accompanied by his new young boyfriend. Also present is her niece Anna (Mariangela Melato) and her partner Claudia (Eleonora Giorgi). The existential immobility is shattered on the occasion of a sudden death, which forces them to face the consequences of the unstoppable passage of time ...
"Dimenticare Venezia" (To Forget Venice) is an elegant drama openly reminiscent of the cinema of Visconti, or the De Sica of "Il giardino dei Finzi Contini". Director Franco Brusati is also co-author of the screenplay, written together with Jaja Fiastri, enriched by flashbacks and almost dreamlike moments, such as the memory of a Christmas masquerade party in fairy-tale tones.
This is Italian-French co-production that in Italy won the David di Donatello Award for Best Film, and got an Academy Award nomination in the US for Best Foreign Language Film.
