I definitely would like to visit Mallorca someday. There is lots of beautiful scenery and appealing locations. The acting isn't bad, most of the time. It's a quite predictable, mediocre cop series, at best. Formulaic show with a typical uptight female (Miranda) & out of shape, bumbling simpleton male (Max) detective partners with a vitriolic boss. Lots of ridiculous foot chases that could have been avoided by waiting till they were closer to perp. Miranda not carrying a gun is absurd. A ton of rookie cop mistakes. All in all it's not terrible but mostly it's just good for background noise. Done.
Such an eccentric offbeat film, a real slow burn, it gets bogged down at times but there are also many laugh out loud moments. This movie portrays a very cynical view of the political world in the United States of America at the time. Ironically today even more so. It's very much a different role for Peter Sellers, he gives a phenomenal dramatic performance!!! This is One of Shirley MacLaine's best performances in my opinion, at times she steals the show. The cinematography is outstanding, especially for the time period. The music at the beginning was a little off putting for me. Underrated!!!
I can't believe all the bad reviews... I think this movie is fantastic! Everything about it... It's a jail breakout, it's a heist, It's worth watching simply for the phenomenal performances, of this cast of exceptional young actors, before they were legends, there are several lesser-known actors that are exceptional in their own right... the music is perfectly placed, the comedy perfectly paced... it's funny, really funny! James Caan running (prancing) in & of itself is hilarious, Caan & Gould dancing, the corn field... On a side note young Michael Caine looks so much like Jude Law it's uncanny.
