Edie (Samara Weaving) has had a troubled upbringing. She worked as a driver for less than legal endeavors. She has been trying to go straight for the last few months. She discovers that she's pregnant. Her baby daddy is longtime on-again-off-again boyfriend John (Karl Glusman). He's a reckless petty criminal and he's made a mistake.
This opens with some good car action. I'm having some good fun and then nothing for the middle part of the movie. It is almost putting me to sleep. Then it revs up again with lots of fun action. It hits a comedic high point with the collision avoidance joke. Almost immediately, the movie turns tonally dark and hits that darkness a few more times. There is a fun action-packed movie somewhere in here. It just needs a lot more action in the middle and a lot less darkness in the last part.

In China, dragons and pandas live in harmony. Panda Pang's best friend is a dragon named Jielong. Jielong gets kidnapped to Africa. Pang follows in a rescue mission. For a long time, I assumed this to be a Chinese production. It's a panda and a Chinese dragon. As I dig a little deeper than the thumbnail, it is actually a pan-European production. Sure, Hollywood does Kung Fu Panda and it's not impossible for white people to do something outside their culture. This one is not a good example. Quite frankly, the African elements may be better. First, the animation is second tier. It is not good enough for a present day theater. It may be alright for streaming. The story isn't that much either. The dragon is the most interesting. Chinese dragons are rarer and this one is cute. Otherwise, this is mostly forgettable.
At Shadyside High, Lori Granger (India Fowler) and her best friend Megan Rogers are outsiders. She gets bullied due to her mother who was falsely accused of her father's murder. Her biggest bully is mean girl Tiffany Falconer. She decides to run for Prom Queen against Tiffany and her minions. A red figure is taking out the girls one by one.
This is a Netflix movie based on R. L. Stine books. It is a lot of fake bloody gore. There is some cheap fun with that kind of throwback to the 80's B-horrors. There isn't much else. I don't recognize the girls. I've seen some of them before, but they're not standing out in this. Sure, I recognize Katherine Waterston and Lili Taylor, but they're not the leads. It's all rather bland and uninspired.
