At 2hr 2 min, the first thing I would say is this whole thing could have been easily addressed in a 1hr Creepshow episode. Most scenes just strung out the gory goings on, many of which could have been cut completely with no detriment to the plot.
With phrases like Cronenberg and bloody horror floating around, you will need to be prepared as such. Latter stages of the plot explode (literally) in gore to the point of 50% audience sighing is disbelief and other 50% turning away in disgust.
This is a shame, because there could have been a great and interesting plot resolution between the 2 protagonists, but the story went for visual tatt instead.
Demi and Margaret were great - no faulting them.

And I did spin on some. I question some of the items come under playground. There were some obvious elements of pier pressure under the guise of tradition. I would prefer to review items where participants were not forced or coerced into it or coping with what appeared substantial mental trauma.
