For the uninitiated, 15 tells the story of Singapore's lost youth. The original short film (at a duration of approximately 20 minutes) was excellent and mind blowing. A treat for all the senses. I don't think there was a single person who left the film festival screening unmoved.

The feature length version basically continues where the short left off. And what a great feature it would've been had there been an actual story! The movie was wandering and meandering, meaningless at some points, and just plain boring at others. I shall always treasure the short film experience, and have already forgotten the feature length abomination.

What can I say? An excellent end to an excellent series! It never quite got the exposure it deserved in Asia, but by far, the best cop show with the best writing and the best cast on televison. EVER! The end of a great era. Sorry to see you go...

Right off the bat, let me say the kids were great. Jack Neo has a way of tugging at the heart strings by getting us to feel for the plight of the children in his movies. And the teacher, played by Marcus, is brilliant! He was easily the best actor in the entire film. But apart from that, it was a TV movie at best. Except for the kids and Marcus, every other character was played so over the top, it made the recent Brothers 4 actually seem good. And it was hard to miss the massive Homerun ads on TV, in cinemas, in magazines. It was a bad move to constantly drill it into us that this was "a remake of the award winning Iranian film, Children of Heaven". Comparisons will obviously be made, and Homerun is far inferior to the magnificent original.
