The Bone Snatcher is about a group miners who go on a search for a missing crew of miners in the Namib Desert. When the find them, they are nothing more than bones stripped clean and they could not have been dead for more than six hours. The story keeps you interested as to what exactly caused this. The characters are well enough, and the acting is pretty good.

About an hour and ten minutes in when you find out what is causing the bones to be stripped clean, you sigh "oh, that is really stupid." The movie is ruined by bad writing and a non-exciting ending. Up until that point, the movie was pretty good, and it is a shame that it took such a bad turn. So I cannot recommend this movie. I gave it a 4/10.

I have to say that this movie caught me by surprise. I thought it was going to be a horror movie, along the lines of The Eye and it was not. It is a fresh comedy with a romantic twist. It is character-driven, very real characters that you can relate to. Sammi Cheng who plays May and Chi-Sing Lam who plays Sam put in great performances, both very funny.

The movie begins in a graveyard with the burial of Daniel, his family and ex-girlfriend sobbing over his grave. That's when the ex-girlfriend who helped Daniel and his family build a very successful purse business learns of Daniel's quickie marriage of 7 days to May. She now gets his inheritance, and she turns out to be a smoking, drinking and lazy gold digger.

One night while drinking and driving, she smashes Daniel's car and meets Ken, a ghost, who scares her soul back into her body to continue living. After an operation, she realizes that she can now see ghosts with her left eye and Ken will not leave her alone.

I recommend this movie as light-hearted fun, and it will definitely suck you into it.

This movie is very campy and knows it. It tries to make fun of feminists and chauvinists at the same time, and does so quite well. It is very (very) light entertainment.

Bill Maher plays a light-hearted chauvinist who teaches a tribe of sensitive men all about beer and corvettes. Seeing Bill Maher in purple bikini underwear before being put into a pot to stew, and having him discover a carrot in the pot and uttering the words "What's up Doc" is very worth the viewing experience..
