When people who have never watched the movie hear Fight Club, they think it's simply a movie about fighting. In fact, it has nothing to do with martial arts, MMA, etc., but rather a movie about the philosophy of life, masculinity, and consumerism in modern society. It is about a rejected people, a loss of self-awareness, meaningless lives with no purpose, and most importantly, what happens when people decide that they have had enough. The movie Fight Club follows a man simply known as the Narrator. He lives a mundane life of working a purposeless job that he hates, while at the same time dedicating his life to Ikea furniture and other products from big companies. Every day is the same, a constant cycle that lacks meaning. One day, he meets a man on a plane that appears to be the complete opposite. His name is Tyler Durden. He's everything a man wants to be. Cool, attractive, confident, intelligent, and most importantly, free. Tyler and the Narrator eventually start an underground Fight Club in order to get in touch with their masculine roots that have been denied to them by a feminized society. Fight Clubs message is one that has never felt more true than it is today, and needs to be studied and viewed by more people.
The Outlast Trials is a multiplayer horror game where you can go into a trial with your friends or just by yourself, and complete objectives so you can leave, all the while you are being pursued by enemies and psychopaths looking to gut you. The main feature of this game, just like all the other Outlast games is the night-vision, which you use to navigate through the dark and avoid enemies. Due to the fact that you are unable to fight back and only have so much stamina to run, you must be smart about how you approach each and every situation. The environments and trials are incredibly well crafted and creative. They make you feel helpless, and trapped within the walls of the Murkoff facility. One of the main characteristics of the Outlast games was the paranoia of being alone, however, even if you have multiple people, the fear does not leave the atmosphere. The relief you feel when escaping a trial never goes away, even if it's your 300th play through. The musical score was excellent, and the range of upgrades and abilities as well as the customization of your character and room made the game the interesting and gave you something to work for. The storyline and gameplay was incredible as well. Overall, this game ended up being an excellent addition to the Outlast franchise, and I cant wait for the third one.
