Death Becomes her is one of those movies in which despite the dark content you cannot help laughing. Meryl Streep, whom I consider the most talented actress in Hollywood gives a brilliant performance. Goldie Hawn's transformation from a docile and insecure woman to a sharp and cunning author is excellent as well. the movie is full of witty humour like when Streep says after killing Hawn " She even paid for the Hardware." The special effects oscar did full justice to the movie. However the climax could have been dealt a little better. I would rate it one of the better comedies in made in North America.
I saw the movie on tv and I've seen it about five times. The idea is utterly original. Nicolette Sheridan gives a good performance as John Ritter's wife. The climax is exceptional and the operatic sound track is befitting as well. All in all it's pretty good for a low budget tv movie
Central station is probably one of the best foreign films I ve ever seen. Fernando Montenegro gives a splendid performance. Watching her on screen you can actually feel what she is going through. Furthermore the movie is shot in the divine country sides of Brasil and the director capitalizes on the refreshing locations. The soundtrack which for me is as essential as the acting, is soft and touches the heart.Even if you aren't a big fan of foreign films you should watch central station- you won't regret it.
