I had been dying to see this movie, mainly because I'm a huge fan Of Nick Cornish and I wasn't disappointed with his role at all. My gripe was with Armand Assante. I could barely understand a word he said! But overall, I think the movie lacked several things. It could have been great. It needed more scare factor, a little more romance. I little more of the nasty stuff. Just a little more of everything, I guess. Still, it was watchable. The acting was good, other than Assante's dialogue. His fellow Americans probably didn't find it an issue, but being a Brit, found it really hard going. Managed to get this movie on DVD (all be it Region 1. Technology, a wonderful thing ;))
Being a massive Rupert fan as a child, I just fell in love with this short film as soon as I saw it with my now grown up children, and I still own a copy of it myself. Next stop is the DVD version.
I wish they'd bring Rupert back. We need his innocence and his love of adventure for our future generations. He'll never go out of fashion, and I think Paul & Co's voices were perfect.
The fact that Paul McCartney took time out from being a Rock God to compose this stunning piece of movie and music is truly commendable. I wish he'd do some more. The song/movie is still hot, judging by ebay etc, so it would definitely make money, in my honest opinion.
But just knowing that there are children, and adults out there waiting to watch and listen to his mini masterpieces, I'm sure, would thrill Paul, and Linda, God rest her soul.

I love a good war film, and I love a good romance. This film had both, and more besides. I'd never seen Ken in anything else before, and he quite simply blew me away. Every time I watch this film, and I still do, regularly, there is always something new in it. Ken is surrounded by great actors who bring out the best in him. Cheryl was absolutely perfect as his leading lady, and Whizz was just a blast alongside being a faithful buddy. Hanes was a fantastic choice, too, bringing a youthful intelligent and likable black man into it was a brilliant thought. The two sexual scenes were awesome. Tasteful, but sexy. Gut-wrenching, but hopeful. And the ending...beautiful.
I love it. Simple as that.
