Jatindranath Mukherjee aka Bagha Jatin deserves highest respect and movie also attempted same but as a movie it failed on many fronts. First of all it is over cliched on many fronts. Writer presented story at shallow level and it clearly appeared that he did not worked hard to research and dig deeper. Both writer and director look ameteurs. Movie was created just for the sake of creating it. It had nothing to hook your attention throughout. There were many interesting historical events but were presented in over simplimisitic and banal manner. Director should watch movies like Udham Singh to know where does he stand. In short, the story had the potential but inept writer and director failed to do justice with that.

This movie need to get attention of viewers. A story and struggle of Capt. GR Gopinath that need to be known to people. A story that will make you proud and inspire you to aim for high feats. This movie gave me similar feeling like I got after watching Manjhi. This movie made me cried at moments, gave me goosebumps and filled me with exhilarating highs. Acting of Suriya deserves highest accolades and appreciation. He is a gem. Though I couldn't understand the Tamil but I was so immersed into the movie that I never felt the difficulty of watching the movie with subtitles alone. Paresh Rawal was cherry on the cake. It is always pleasure to see him on screen. Overall a complete movie that holds the potential to be among the best ones. Hardly, I am able to find any flaw or lack in the movie. Highly recommended to watch it once even if you don't know Tamil/Telugu/Kannada/Malayalam.

This was the first Tamil movie I watched in original language with English subtitles. Penguin movie is beyond words. In bollywood, I can recall only few movies to compare with. It got me the feeling that I had after watching exquisite movies like Tumbbad. In beginning I was quite apprehensive and was not interested in watching the movie but still I gave it a chance. After few minutes, the story gripped my attention so well that till the end I was watching this movie with lazer focus and was completely involved into the story. I could feel each and every emotions of the scene. I was so involved in few instances that my heart beat went up, hand started trembling. This is the proof that story has everything that a blockbuster suspense thriller movie should have. Movie has neatly shown the valour of a woman in the role of a mother. Keerty Suresh should be really appreciated for playing the character perfectly. This movie has really enhanced the degree of respect for woman, I had before. We at times often underestimate the role of mother as a life giver. In the end my only request is that don't give a second thought to the movie, go straightaway and watch it. I am sure you won't regret your decision of giving 2 hours to it. The movie Penguin will definitely mark etch in your memory and characters, story and all the emotions will remain with you for long. Kudos to the Penguin team for making such a brilliant movie.
