This is one of the best romantic dramas I have seen. I was somewhat familiar with the general idea of the story before watching, since I've seen one earlier adaptation of the same story. That one was not at all as enchanting as this.
The societal critique was well portayed and it acted as only one variable in the equation. Obviously it also brings extra tension to the dynamics with forbidden love vibes.
Scenery and sets were immaculate, which sometimes feel staged in film. Not this, I could believe every scene and surrounding. It was essential to the emotional experience.
The nature! Wild, free, honest and beautiful!
There are a few bold scenes of physical interaction, but here it felt natural. It only emphasises the whirlwind love the main couple experiences. Plus the scenes were actually hot and not gringe at all.
I highly recommend for fans of quality period romantic drama.

This piece had me shook. The changing themes, locations and emotional atmospheres were the most interesting tool in this series. From pity to anger, from anger to sadness, from shame to judgement, from resentment to helplessness, from acceptance to dissociation, and so on and back and forth.
It's beautifully made with one continuous shot per each episode. Peak acting especially from the young actor Owen Cooper. He plays his part so well that this Miller son is truly a harrowing confusing character. From Stephen Graham this is my favorite role of his. He was very accurate in what he was meant to portray in the scheme of things. Those who know, know.
The story makes a deeply unsettling point about the bottomless hunger of the manosphere and the likes of whose name I won't mention. They feed on ignorance, hatred and shame. It latches itself on the young and the old.
It's not only the act of extreme violence that we should look at, because it all starts way long before that point. It could have started 30 years before we were even born.
One of the most important messages in this piece to me is that the adults need to get themselves in check. Talk to your kids and anyone's kids really, don't just interrogate. Spend time doing regular boring stuff. Be interested, really interested, don't just evaluate. It shouldn't be that hard.

This was a lovely movie! My favorite in the series. It has a distinct adventure/mystery type of theme and feel to it. There are conspiracies, ancient artifacts and strange apparitions. At the same time it's cute and light. Love love love.
In the heart of this movie is the concept of home and belonging. Is it important to know where you come from in order to feel whole. Is it up to us to carry the sins of our fathers or can we forge our own destiny and choose for ourselves. Are you meant to stay or meant to go. How can you find a home, or do you even have to - is it possible to build one for yourself.
There are a few scenes I could have done without, as they felt out of place and kinda awkward. All in all a great feel-good movie for the weekend!
