..but the performances are flaccid, preachy and trying to hard to check all those boxes that is expected of those whom claim the moral superior high ground.
For the most part Byrne hasn't made anything as great as his days with the Talking Heads; although Feelings was excellent.
But this "film" is no Stop Making Sense- that movie had plenty of pretensions, but somehow the music and performances kept things exciting and therefore not overbearing.
I recently tried to rewatch this after several years since it was first released. After a few minutes of skipping forward, I'm impressed with how much I tolerated the first time around.
I'll just stick to the albums.

Sly Stone is an infinitely fascinating character and musician. His music will be around forever.
Qwestlove's obsession with Sly being a black genius is grating and he's projecting too much of his own outlooks instead of trying to find out and express just what Sly Stone's outlook was/is.
Most of the musicians interviewed in the doc, do not hold a candle to Sly's talent or achievements, so their opinions don't hold much weight.
The only interviews that were interesting were his band mates. And how could they not a find any of his contemporaries? How could they basically ignored his discography after Fresh? Or the quirky side projects he did.
This documentary had too much of a personal agenda that wasn't about Sly Stone. Still, the man was just that interesting that he shines through despite the negative issues.

This movie isn't trying to waste anyone's time. It gets right to the point with what it's all about, not answering all the questions you may have of why, but that's not the point of the movie.
When it comes down to it, The Hunted is about a master searching for his top pupil who has gone rogue because of mental illness, using only the skills that were taught for covert assassinations and survival. Stealth, knives and traps are the tricks to the trade, and the young student has equal skill the much older master.
The Northwest scenery is beautiful, but the action is the core of this surprisingly good action film.
