Being the fact that the show debuted on CBS, that was the possibly the first mistake. However, it was a great show and had great storylines and a potential out of this world to be a big hit. But I remember reading somewhere that the show was too expensive to produce, over $1 million an episode but think about the first rate cast it had. Led by movie actresses Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Beals, and TV vet Lisa Hartman, this show rocked. Besides behind the scenes read like a who's who of Hollywood, produced by TV legend Aaron Spelling, directed by Hollywood hit maker Joel Schumacher, who also directed such huge blockbusters as Batman Forever & A Time To Kill. And it was created and written by L.A. Law creator Louise Fischer. This show was much better than Melrose Place, which started off weak but grew stronger after Heather Locklear's entrance, but 2000 Malibu Road started off hot and ended much, much hotter. Leaving viewers with several cliffhangers. The real find of the show however was Tuesday Knight who played the chunky, obsessive sister Joy to Drew Barrymore's Lindsey. With Joy being struck by lightning in the final episode you didn't know if she survived but being that she was getting her comeuppance for her voodoo involvement, one couldn't help but wonder what ever happened to these fabulous characters.
