The key to a good sitcom is avoiding an unnecessary umderlining of the jokes.
Scrubs did it perfectly. Over narrative, no need for audience, the jokes will sell themselves.
The volume of unfunny sitcoms coming from the US is rising and the majority arent hitting their marks, the fomulas are all the same, the settings all seem familiar and fake, but its usually 5 minutes in you know its never going to be funny.
I like Tim Allen. Home Improvement set a marker for this type of thing, but maybe if the writers improve, the show will do.
Cant see this getting past S1 but history tells me people enjoy this stuff.

Its been so long since the season 1 finale, the recap didnt feel like it gave me much recollection but it comes back to you once the episode unfolds.
Brutal scenes with the natives which turn your stomach, and it feels like ots going to take another season for the prodigal son to return, given their current plight.
There is one scene with a character looking for stray cattle, its like someone one a competition to guest as the acting is as bad as it gets when you've got such high quality across its wealth of cast members.
Harrison Ford seems to have plenty left in the tank with his volume of releases, which isnt a bad thing. I just hope hes in more scenes as its spread out across so many different stories, its probably why the recap didnt shed enough light.

Ok so given the popularity of both Dune and the GoT books/translation to screen, it was inevitable that we would get another incarnation in some capacity, by way of a previous novel set some 10,000 years prior to the Paul Atreides era.
Without going into too much detail or giveaways, this will be right up your street if you liked both of the above.
Its got that sci-fi vibe of Dune, the slow building character development of GoT, a stellar cast of both known and unkown actors, and what looks like an extravagant budget, which you can clearly see on display here in terms of costume, effects etc.
Episode 1 has my intrigued for more.
