They call it comedy drama. Its makes gruesome murder FUN, if you can ignore reality & just go along. Handsome as ever, her police partner and Female captain, 2 strong rexperienced actors.

This lead 49 (not saying this is old) has no direction, 3 kids, teenage & toddler, Dresses like a teenager. Yes she has the legs but her skirts barely cover her bottom. Does anyone dress like that since1980? Impractical because you cannot run step up without exposing yourself. No detective or PD Rep could wear those skirts.

This sets the tone of the drama.

Like Castle (NY) here LAPD uses a consultant who essentially becomes an acting Detective. Invented scenerio, where this consultant bec of unusual ability helps PD solve crimes. And Police Captain uses them. Police are very territorial AND follow protocol.

Didetic memory, Genuis, who has large catelogue of data on epverything, instantly available. Which reflect on crime. OK she sees details that lead to solving a crime. We have to think that most murders, play psycho games that require esoteric knowledge. Like Sherlock Holmes & Moriarity.

It can be entertaining if you are willing to accept this world. But clever not really. The writers work backward. Invent a crime & create facts & track leading to the resolution. Some episodes better than others.

If she were in the case they would have found the Unibomber and Green River Killer in days, weeks.
