I know it was not a finished story from Austen so whoever constructed this did a decent enough job. The cinematography was gorgeous but it didn't quite hit the mark or tone correctly to be a true Austen story. That said, like some of the other's commented, if you see it removed of Austen and just watch it as a period piece, I think you will enjoy it more. I watched it fully a year ago and decided to binge watch it again and I did enjoy it more the second time through. A lot of people prefer the first season but I actually enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd this time around. All in all a wonderful touching series.
I used to nanny for multiple families and would've loved the tips that Jo gives on this show! For those that have written negative reviews, are they watching the same show as I am? Yes, the kids are out of control in the beginning and that is why Jo is called upon to help bring order in the home. She doesn't do anything abusive and loves on the parents and the children. She's there to first observe, and then give feedback after.
There truly are families out there that allow their kids to run all over them and this show is not exaggerating that. I don't feel like Jo is insincere at all! It doesn't seem staged, and I think she gives many fantastic techniques to utilize to help families to better understand their own kids and implement rules that are effective. I don't like to write reviews too often, but I really felt this show needed another positive one.

I don't write too many reviews but I thought I'd add one for this holiday favorite of mine. It's not the best written plot or the best acting but I get a kick out of the slapstick humor from Will Friedle and also the leads have a cute chemistry together. It's cheese all the way but I love it just the same! If your in the mood for a cute holiday movie, this one hits the spot!
