Amnesia? The person who wrote before myself makes it sound as if this was a major part of the film...which it is not....the kid was shot and left for dead....almost. That is traumatic enough for a person to have "amnesia"....which plays just a tiny part in the film anyway.No-not a "made for TV" flick...this movie was well done in most respects....all of the actors did a great job here...I say a well done flick and Canadian too! It was a strange fact that the boy and his ex-girlfriend got together again-how many "shrinks" would go that far to help a patient....but altogether a nice movie and time well spent! A small note: the girlfriend was later seen in beverly Hills 90210....I have never seen the actor who played the main character in this film again-what a shame....
no one has mentioned the Abba poop! Geez that was so funny-this film is on my top ten of all time...every actor was fabulous...the clothes were wonderful....the story was fantastic and it left me with such a happy feeling...I wanted to yell at my friends who were TERRIFIED to come out-to DO it!Terrence stamp made me cry....and later on in the film I wanted to cry with happiness....you have to love the kid near the end of the film...and of course the Mom-who reminded me of mine before my Ma was lost into the depths of Alzheimers....she encouraged me to be what I am...not what society said I should be....if anyone wants to come out for their kids and are not sure how to----take a break....sit down and watch this film with them.It is fabulous....a fun, kind, sweet movie.Buy it!
I enjoyed this film yet hated it because I wanted to help this guy! I am in my fifties and have a lot of friends in the music business...who are now still trying to become adults....no more fans, groupies, money etc...and they are having such a hard time adjusting to a regular life...as they see the new bands etc getting the spotlight...it is almost like they have to begin anew...this film is a testament to what a lot of the old rockers from the 70's and 80's are going through now....and that's where I find the film sad and depressing.BUT it portrays the life of an old rock star-abandoned and lost-in a believable way.The young girl who arrives at his decrepit home reminds me of Hollis maclaren (Outrageous)...and she is one lady in a film you will cheer for. This film is a must have for folks in their 50's who have seen the rise and fall of bands, people who knew the members, and have watched them hurt as age creeps in,and popularity fades. This is an almost perfect movie....sad but in a way positive....because of the whales. A MUST SEE!
