It is both fortunate and unfortunate that Pawan Malhotra and Supriya Pathak delivered exemplary performances in this series. Their acting was so believable that I often had to remind myself that it was just a web series. Their chemistry was outstanding. Unfortunately, no other character matched their level, and I couldn't fall in love with anyone else; I just wanted to see these two. Ranveer Shorey was given very few dialogues, and his character was too obvious. I wish there had been a few more episodes that could have better justified the characterization of the four family members in Tabbar. Gullak is a perfect example where all four characters can impress the audience almost equally. In Tabbar, the two sons are somehow unlikable and feel like mere fillers. Despite this, the storyline is very gripping, and once you start, you will likely end up binge-watching.
I loved part 1, and also part 2. Undoubtedly, part 1 was better as had really interesting dialogues that I still remember, and was a funny movie with Vikrant's parents adding extra comic flavour to the movie. However, part 2 dialogues weren't that solid with limited recall value. The movie cannot be categorized as a comical thriller but just a thriller. Nonetheless, overall the movie is quite interesting and will keep you hooked throughout, a new addition was great too..loved the acting of Sunny Kaushal. I wished to see more of Vikrant in the movie, as now his screen time was divided among new additions including Sunny and Jimmy. I also wished to see more of Aditya Shrivastava in the movie, as Jimmy, unfortunately, was not able to create that fear as Aditya was able to do in his role as a police cop..Aditya is too good, watching him since his Crime Patrol days..adds authenticity and immediate believability when one sees him as a cop. Tapsee's acting was good but missed her one-liners as she was able to deliver in part 1, which were really funny. Also, I wished that crocodiles had been shown a bit more scary to get chills and the characters could not act the way anyone would feel if they ever had to really tackle some crocodiles. Nonetheless, the movie is definitely a good watch.
Although there was nothing new in the storyline or theme, however, the acting of the cast kept me engaged but was totally disconnected from the movie after the climax...what a shame. I was hoping for some unseen twist in the story or the power of unusual thinking of a common man, and what he can do in such situations, rather Prateek Gandhi's character was depicted as a really weak common man. The movie appears as if there is a lesson to the audience not to mess with the people with power. I actually felt that a corrupt politician or a top builder had funded this movie as a message to the common man... not to mess with us..otherwise, there was no point in such a story and a climax. In the world of technology, media, twitter, or even finding the right people in the opposition party, Prateek Gandhi's character absolutely did nothing, just portrayed himself as a weak personality. This movie is a disaster in a way, as all characters are shown mediocre in a way, like broker..who was not good at his job, a lawyer who is neither likeable, nor humorous, or good at his work, sister..average girl with no ambitions and who just wants to get married to anyone, a wife...who is just agreeing to her husband decisions without questioning much, mother was completely non-existent, Prateek's best friend...not sure if he was even given any dialogues.. no portrayal of any great friendship/loyalty.
I am actually angry after watching this movie, as all the actors did ok acting but such a weak storyline gave me just a depressing feeling. I wish at least the movie had some good dialogues to remember. Where the internet is flooded with such high quality, creative content, not sure why such an old, storyline was selected to make a movie. I felt like I was watching some old movie in 70's and 80's. Will not recommend anyone to watch this movie, especially on weekends unless they intentionally want to spoil their mood.
