Taking Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians", and giving it a satanic twist, really livens up the original story about a bunch of people who end up at a mansion, in this case to inherit the legacy of the owner. Katharine Ross and Sam Elliott star as an interior decorator and her husband hired to go to England to redesign a house. Upon arriving they rent a Motorcycle and sidecar and are almost killed when a rolls royce almost collides with them. The owner of the car invites them to his mansion for tea while the cycle is repaired. Little do they know this is the same man that has brought them to England. The next morning 5 people land by helicopter on the estate lawn. Each wears the same ring on their finger. When one of the newcomers a championship swimmer, drowns in the pool, something isn't right. Later that night Katharine Ross is summoned upstairs to receive the "blessing of the ring", by the very man who invited them to come and is now dying upstairs and looks to be much older when involved in the accident the day before. Now they are trapped in the house, each of the guests dies one by one. Each has sold his sold to the devil and only one can inherit the "Legacy". The best mumbo jumbo Hollywood has ever served up. Not dated at all, and the theme song by Kikki Dee is terrific! DON'T MISS THIS ONE!

In order to stop her homosexual friend Albert (Perry King) from being deported back to Belgium, Stella (Meg Foster) decides to marry him. The only other problem with that is that Stella herself is a lesbian. The two have their separate lives when one night after Albert's birthday party, they fall into bed and then into love. Later in the film after falling in love, Stella suspects Albert of cheating and shows up at his job one night late after closing. What she finds will leave the viewer stunned. This is a great film, very original. Perry King and Meg Foster are so good in their roles that it is amazing that they were not better recognized for their work here. Very controversial upon its release in 1978, the "R" rated film is now "PG" in this much more liberal time.

Recently released on DVD, the disc contains a "Making Of" segment on the special features and in it it's stated that the film was based on an actual story so the viewers who say the film is not "real" are mistaken. Everyone is an individual and different people fall in love for different reasons-these are the issues explored in this wonderful film for everyone who has ever loved!

Michael Ontkean and Amy Irving are simply splendid in this marvelous, old fashioned love story, This is the kind of film that is just not made anymore! A touching love story about an up and coming singer, who one day meets and falls in love with the girl of his dreams. However, he must come to terms with the fact that she is deaf. Wonderful soundtrack , with one of the most beautiful theme songs from a film. Great ending too!
