Ok, cut me some slack if you read this. I am old, like born in the '60's. I like to think of myself as, accepting. Not sure if that's the right word. I watched this show and I LOVE IT!!! I thought oh boy here we go, but I cried, laughed and got hooked. First off I love Laverne Cox. I hope I use the right pronoun, she is fabulous, talented and beautiful. This show hits all the marks in my book. I think the characters all meld together nicely. The father seems about my age which to me helps me to grasp this show very well. I know this is season one and hope for a season two. Brilliantly done and appeasing to everyone. Congratulations Laverne, you're incredible.
I started watching this show because Nico Santos is in it and he was in Superstore and did a fabulous job on that show. While Nico and his boss on here are both good, the rest fall flat. This show is not doing anything favorable for the Gen Z crowd. I think anyone watching this show would never hire anybody from this generation the way they're portrayed as lazy, pretentious, entitled spoiled brats. I keep watching thinking it's going to turn around and the Gen Z's snap out of it, but I am thinking it's not going to happen. I'm disappointed because I truly wanted this to be a good show, but it's not.
I am a child of the '60's and grew up on the music of The Who, The Beatles, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix amongst other fabulous bands. I tuned in to watch this because I admired Jimi Hendrix and the person who was portraying Jimi. It was a disappointment because I was expecting more music. Oftentimes the music in the background of the bars they were in made it complicated to hear what was being said and I had to turn on subtitles. Disappointed to say the least. I would've loved to see cameo performances of his past shows. I watched the entire thing waiting to see him play and got nothing. Nice try.
