This movie is one of those stories sneaks up on you. The set up of the two main characters, best friends who are both dating a great guy, is wonderfully rich and charming, with the warmth of sunny Los Angeles as a backdrop. The music and cinematography is excellent, and you can almost taste the Chablis and feel the ocean breeze. As things go forward though, it is clear that something is a bit off. There is definitely trouble in Paradise, and the trouble is John, played by the great Steve Seagren. Once the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, the laughs just keep on coming. I don't want to spoil it, so make a point of seeing it for yourself. Kevin Keresey does a great job as director and writer. The pace is right on, he gets 110% from his solid actors, and puts the entire package together in way the makes you beg for more. Well done!

I keep hearing a reading that this show is getting bad press, and I don't get it. I'm not a mother. I'm not even a woman. I'm not even a person with kids. I'm not even a mother or woman or a person with kids who likes sitcoms, and I have only liked and watched the best sitcoms ever made. Seinfeld, Fraser, Cheers, Friends, The Odd Couple (yes I'm that old) ... that's about it for me. I'm just a guy who happened to catch the show with my wife and I laughed my butt off. Now, for me to watch an entire sitcom is a feat in itself. To watch one about mothers is 2 feats. (insert joke here). So congrats to In The Motherhood for entertaining me. I plan to watch every episode. Well Done!

Gran Torino takes me back to my time as a kid looking up to men who were real men, and cars that were real cars. Both were solid muscle, bone, and guts. They wouldn't dare sully their reputation by winning a fight by having a bunch of their friends come along and help them finish it for them. They took on the world man to man, one fight at a time. My neighbor had a Gran Torino. It was candy apple red and when it started up, you knew it meant business.

It is great that Clint is still making movies - period. The fact that he continues to make movies that explores the darkness and light that makes up a real man is a gift that I hope he keeps on giving, because this is a time in our history when it is going to take real people of strong character to get the job done. Man to man, one fight at a time. Our cars may not be as tough as they used to be, but that doesn't mean we aren't. Thanks, Clint. Put another notch in your belt.
