Is a very visually appealing movie. Acting is good. Not an action film...a slow pace but keeps you attentive to see what is going to happen. The underlying story line may be hard to figure out for some, but it becomes apparent in the end. The visuals, acting, and uniqueness overcome the confusing story line. I like the music too...sounds like the music from the game "Myst".
I'm "only" 34 but I've been watching Letterman since I was about 13. He in fact has one of the few shows I can tolerate to watch on TV. I can always count on him to be entertaining. He clearly has it down to a science now and doesn't deviate much from his standard ritual whereas years ago it was always something new and different. That said, his ritual is actually reliably entertaining. Clearly one of the attractions to watching him for so long is the comfortable feeling one has with having the same show play around the same time of night for so many years. Of course, now I use TiVo. The bottom line is that Letterman is truly the best thing going for TV and is a reliably good and entertaining show.
Story of a cop (Dennis Leary) fumbling in his career and then gets involved with solving a crime in his own apartment complex. For some reason Leary and Elizabeth Hurley have a romantic involvement in the movie. It is sort of a Dromedy. In my mind...mostly a comedy but with a dramatic plot. Dennis Leary and Elizabeth Hurley are the main stars...and Leary is above average and Hurley is simply average. It is unfortunate Steve Buscemi didn't have more of a role. But the story is pretty interesting and it is funny in parts (with the exception of the Leary/Hurley relationship sub-plot). By this virtue it is better than 95% of other movies that are out there and thus worth seeing but not getting your hopes up too much. Leary and Buscemi should do more films. Hurley should simply be a model....or perhaps just start playing Goldie Hawn like roles (i.e. purposefully ditsy).
