I admit I have a hard time with these fantasy themed K-Dramas, but I had to watch it as the male lead is Lee Min-ho who i purposely searched for on Netflix and found this one. I give him a 10 for romanticism and for the King's role. He immerses himself in these kinds of roles. He does a fantastic job riding the white horse so confidently- not sure if he knew how to ride before this role or took lessons but had command of the beautiful animal.
As far as the script goes it is a little confusing having double characters in parallel universes with different eras and trying to figure out who is bad and who is good, but from an acting point of view they all did a good job playing 2 roles in the same drama which I am sure is very hard to do. If uou ever had deja vu you may enjoy this drama.

Put this on my watch list because it was a new release at Netflix, not knowing what I was getting into. Seemed like there were some familiar faces right away reminding me of "Elite" characters and that's the only other Spanish drama I ever watched so must be deliberate as this has a similar vibe.
This is just one big exaggeration of the sports training world - these are excellent athletes that haven't even qualified yet for the elite teams. They are trying to qualify. In real life sponsorships aren't done like some secret society with special gold medallion necklaces, athletes don't disappear or get locked up for weeks with experimental quack doctors, and are these "strong" athletes really so "weak" they can't stand up to their directors of the program? Only one girl cares enough for her friend to try and do something? And that girl is cold as all heck to her jerk boyfriend?
Then add in the sex scenes to make it spicy. IMO they are too chopped up anyway as they cut from a gay scene to a straight scene and cut back again quickly it is all too discombobulated. But Netflix could have a better rating than just MA (for Mature). For example, other services I pay for have warnings like BL or includes BL, so that you know what kind of show it is before selecting it. You should be able to have a choice before investing time into it.
Gave it a low rating because did not care for the ending - figured it is open ended in case they want another season.

Jax took it upon himself to go to rehab for 30 days when he realized he needed help and he wanted to do this for his son most of all. Brittany bad mouths him the whole time he is there - not taking responsibility for her own actions either - she had some kind of an affair with Jax's friend? She calls him an idiot and didn't visit him there once. She never met him half way for her son's sake. And for the so-called friends who throw a "Britt's Place" party at Jax's bar on the eve of his release and desecrate the place is disgusting. Sure he did wrong w/o being able to control his anger - but that's why he went for help. None of this dirty laundry should have been aired. After-all , the child will grow up someday and see it onTV. Can you imagine how he will feel?
Love competition shows but the spinning of the wheel took most of the competition aspect away as it all came down to luck for each episode and even the final. The challenges were uncreative - for example critter food challenge, fire challenge, walk the plank and even a spelling bee which made me sad for our youth that they even had to think about those easy words let alone miss some if them. One shining light of the show was Trey who made the show fun, always smiling, upbeat, talented, and positive despite how badly others treated him. Even though he strategized, which is necessary to win, he still always had a smile. Some of the others had bitter looks on their faces and schemed negatively. One male contestant even left the show like a child when he wasn't winning. The most fun contestants left before the final so it could have been better. Even after all that would like to see another season to see how the show might develop.
Another hook up show with a twist of a theme. Don't know who thought up the title "Sneaky Link" but it is a nice way of saying FUBU (F *** Buddies). They join the show not knowing their FUBU is going to be there - someone they hook up with at the bar for example, without knowing anything about each other, keep doing the same thing w/o any expectation at all. The guys are first to admit they are the worst FBs and usually move on to the next as soon as they get the girl in bed. The reason they are here is that they are ready to settle down, get into a relationship to have a girl they can see a future with. Problem is, they don't know how. So the show is designed to teach them to get to know the girl first and some of the players keep hurting girls in their quest for "self-improvement ". I only watched it for Colt who was a good looking player and character and kept it entertaining.
Why, oh why, would anyone in their right mind take your supposed love to see if they will get tempted by someone else? It's a recipe made for disaster and they already know the answer before going there in reality so why torture yourself? The worst men - they say and make promises and as soon as they get there the majority cheat. All promises out the window. Proves once a cheater always a cheater! Yet one woman who is the best still wants to see him own up to it (the threesome he has there) to her and depending on what he says how it will turn out? What? Run as fast as you can girls - you will be glad you did eventually. The host MW does seem nonjudgmental and empathetic but overall how can this be healthy?
10 all around! Has suspense, mystery, action, romance, comedy and the cutest ML who is doing a great job playing an elite agent and undercover student in an elite high school. Finally, the FL is a match for the ML (cute and an equal, confident). Great job in casting.
This series takes you on an emotional roller coaster as the ML also has his own secret mission - and that is to not fail his dad who was also an elite agent and has been missing for 20 years.
Of course the high school does have some bullying and the way the ML handles it is heart warming - great script.
One last note is that this drama is easy going and NOT too violent - very easy to watch but at the same time thrilling scenes.

I admit, I watched this when it appeared on my suggestion list and I noticed Jasper Lui was in it. Not familiar with Thai Drama as am a K-Drama fan and became aware of him in a travel series with a K-Drama star and noticed what a fun lovable authentic guy he was. Been watching a few of his dramas since. I thought he was perfectly cast in this role and was both comical and cute. He was also loyal to his wife and tried hard for her. He was also a mamma's boy which was the catalyst of many of their marriage problems to begin with. He just played it all perfect. Am not sure the FL was the best match for him though. Regardless, the stereotyping of the housewife's clothing (dowdy looking apparel) seems to be the norm for these dramas.
There was just enough tension in the drama to keep each episode interesting without getting stressed out over it. So making it a fun, relaxed, and comical show with romance and everyday doldrums in the real world to make emotions go up and down. I took a few stars off mainly because the twist ending was quite predictable from the beginning.
My stars are for Jasper and his comical scenes.

The unique aspect of this dating show is that the 10 singles must lockup their cellphones and communicate 100% through either meeting organically while roaming the seaside of Nice, or writing letters and checking the mailboxes at the central location. At first, in episode 1 I thought they would never run into each other, but it doesn't take too long to get started and for a brave few to drop basically incognito invites in the mailbox which gets things started. The guys ate cute and some more innocent than others it appears. One thing guys should learn is don't make a date and then cancel it for another girl!!! Red flag!
I did not give a 10 for the reason that as always in these types of shows, the singles consist of actors, models, business owner with own brand, comedian, retired olympian starting a new business and a good dancer that possibly might need a newer career due to getting older. It's always in the back of my mind are they here to promote their future, or are they really here to find love? Are the tears real or are they acting? So took one star off. Was nice to see the travel part and tourist things to do in NiCE, and the businesses featured.

Isn't this an exploitive documentary in that most of these residents have some form of dementia and aren't aware that they are being filmed in the first place? Even if the nursing home had them sign a release for a documentary are the patients even aware what Netflix is in the first place and realize their lives will be exposed to millions of viewers? I am giving this a 5 because I don't know how to rate this as I think it is deceiving to the residents. However it caught my eye and I wanted to see it. At the same time, the spying was on the premise (as described in the beginning) for a concerned daughter to find out if her mother was being abused and having items stolen and there is supposedly a confidentiality agreement between the detective and her to keep the spying for that reason only. So what's it doing on TV then? Is the agreement expired after a year or so of signing it and now they can make money.? If the daughter was so concerned why was she not coming to visit the daughter?
The 5 stars I gave was for the beginning - I wasn't even sure if this was a comedy movie or what as it was funny like a movie as the spy was getting instructions for using his equipment, spying etc. It just didn't look real. And the stars for the sweetness of the residents.

Captivating from the very beginning by the mere description of the movie. The beginning gets us hooked and sets the theme when the foodie and his date gets on a boat for the Island where the expensive dinner will be served. The date is an obvious mis-match from the get-go. She seems unrefined and is amused by his over-the-top food chatter. When they are seated, the date finds out she is a replacement date as she discreetly turns the seating tag over (which has a different woman's name on it). Of course the foodie misses that as all he cares about is the food and chef. She uncomfortably recognizes a male participant which adds to the early mystery.
Something is off right away with the chef's story and the courses quickly go from the funniest dark and cynical humor to total shock. My favorite was the Tuesday Taco scene - the writer has to have a real sense of humor to write that as I couldn't stop laughing. But your laughs quickly turn to shock and you're not laughing anymore. I guess it is masterful how a writer can screw with the viewer's emotions like that.
I took one star off for the ending because I kept asking myself questions at the ending- is there one last twist? Did she have a relationship with the chef in the past (gave him "service" in the past as it was mentioned she was a server before, or give him "service" at the dinner somewhere along the way?) Did she work at the burger place too? Or is it just all over now? But that's just me I am always trying to look for something.

Final Update: Fantastic series. Episode 16 is not what we are expecting at all and extremely moving. There are 2 quotes I personally can take away from the series from but episode 16. First is from ML played by Lee Minho "Every being is a miracle on its own". Also, the last scene reminded me so much of a quote that came to mind from the past by George Carlin "Every person you look at, you can see the universe in their eyes, if you're really looking". (One of the few serious quotes I ever remember from him - He was usually comedic so it stands out). Out of all the emotions we see in Lee MinHo's eyes during this series, the final scene was the best ending ever.
One last note that was no fault of the series, and was unforeseen when filmed, but turned out to be a comedic moment for me was when in Ep. 16 and a space landing was on standby they referred to the Gulf of Mexico LOL. It has since been changed to Gulf of America.
Beginning: Well first, how can you not love Lee Min-ho? (which is why I watched this in the first place.) However, this is much more than that. It's a capitalizing, exciting and humorous love story that delivers humanity messages (gives us things to think about). The cast is full of recognizable talent - from the mom's to the newscaster. You can't just pick out one cast member to give anything negative to say as they all have great chemistry. Our ML and FL have fabulous chemistry and you can see how much time they put onto getting to know each other/get closer beforehand (as they talked about in a live interview) so that they could really connect for this drama. LMO again plays a little bit of the bad boy ( with a heart) we are used to in the beginning as he protects his moms from the guys at the bar that take advantage of them. Also a bit of a bad boy in a different way - breaking rules of society to save or create lives. In space at times he speaks through is eyes with his space helmet on - you can see and read every emotion and when falling on love sane thing. The drama has so much humor too, much of it on a kind of darkish level, he delivers so well along with commander EVE. It's the kind of humor that makes me laugh. Very good balance between humor, love and excitement.

Sorry, but can't replace, excite, get me interested after living it - friend's Saturday hang-outs and late night night parties would always make sure to put it on - can remember it all and this does no justice - can't replace the originals with actors & actresses - but then again I am from Chicago and that makes a big difference. You can't replace John Belushi ever in a movie.
Later the movie ruined my original memories of George Carlin when he got arrested in Milwaukee for saying the swear words.
Giving 2 stars because in the beginning it did make me laugh 2ce as the older lady was asking what something meant in the script - forgot them myself such as "zipper dinner", etc. So props for the few laughs.

Must watch if you love K-Dramas. Iron Family won award after award for 2024. They deserved all the awards and won most of them. If there was one thing didn't care for as far as awards went was that was very strange that there were 5 winners for Couple Of The Year. IMO 1 Couple Of The Year is enough. Our ML and FL won, but it was so odd to also have the thruple (ML's dad, mom, and Fl's mom) as winners too. Left out was grandma & grandpa which would have been nice considering they had 5 winners and was one of the cutest and most in love, after all those years of marriage, couple of all.
Loved the drama; so much fun and romantic too, overall. Was unique in that an old cute couple in their 90s are the criminals.
When I first started this drama I had my doubts this was for me because I didn't realize the 1st episode was setting the background story of the little girl who was going blind and her family who owned the neighborhood laundry. After that background, it quickly skips ahead to young adulthood to a more adult theme which is romantic snd comical at the same time - when the FL (virgin) wants to sleep with a cute guy she just bumped into on the crosswalk before she loses her sight 100%.and her sight was going quick. Well, what guy is going to say no right? But it was comical and sets the theme for their relationship going forward.
The ending was fairly good, would have liked it to go 1 step further with our ML and FL in the last episode - one little blurb was not very satisfying but keeping it at 10 rating since drama overall was better than anything else I saw in long time.

From what I understand, and have read from a local family member of Jerry, Jerry left explicit wishes before he died that he did not want any documentary on his life and his living family has publicly stated that permission has not been given to Netflix to do this. So if that is true, that is just not right to exploit his life and show.against his wishes and living family members, and not give him a chance to defend himself because he is not here. I watched it like most in Chicago and I really think half of this was staged by attention getters trying to get on tv with the most absurd stories and half truths and the producers of the show encouraged this baloney in this first place. Jerry was actually the one that brought some calm and humility to the show.
How, oh how, did this win female and male excellence awards for 2024 dramas (MBC)? Worst drama ever IMO with worst scripting ever IMO and many others by the reviews I read elsewhere.. I viewed drama on Viki and many reviews there were negative and I agree. It went on and on, on and on, with most ridiculous situations and no, it did not capture the audience interest IMO. There was only one other daily drama going on at the same time and it was a toss- up which was worse, but some stuck with it after investing so much time into it (there were many episodes) including myself, but it was the most frustrating. If I am watching a drama, of course you want tension, etc. But to be entertained with frustration is too much. 1 star each for the 2 winners of the award because they did what they had to do with what they were given. I suppose the director may have helped?
I have been watching this drama on Viki which is only up to Episode 5 on New Years Day. While the drama has been an intriguing and cute, and an easy going love story so far, the thing that actually stood out for me the moment I turned it on was that I noticed the theme song was from timelesz, new song (saw in the credits). The reason that caught my attention is that coincidentally am watching at the same time "timelesz -Audition- Project" on Netflix and it has only one last episode 12, the final, to go. Only a couple of the original Japanese artists were left in the group and the are holding their own audition for new members - those that will embrace the team with the direction they are going for - those that can fit as a team and understand their passion. I am assuming this may be their first project with the new team members who have not been announced yet (since airing is delayed)? Not sure, but wish them the best and hope Noh is on it! Will keep watching the drama and hope for a happy ending but you never know with Japanese Dramas - this is why you have to keep watching them.
This K-Drama is fantastic - best I have seen in a long time. It has everything; romance, mystery, suspense, twists and turns and identity crisis'. The show has the sweetest romance story - it should win an award for best couple of the year - I feel it came on too late in the year to be recognized in the '24 award shows. Hopefully next year they can. Both the ML and FL do a great acting performance and the culprit is darn scary too. Trying to piece together the clues of what happened at the orphanage and the missing kids is a really scary creepy concept the script writers came up with. I look forward to every episode.
I couldn't count the times the name of the brand that sells Barbie appeared in the movie - on the walls, just everywhere. I saw one commercial after another. I am glad I didn't pay to see this - it actually appeared on my subscription service and is included with that so figured I would watch it, albeit a little late. I didn't see anything funny about it. Too short for a night at the theater imo. I guess it's just me but I don't care for movies that take icons or even classics and try and change them or add another chapter.....with the guise that things change. No what's wrong with keeping the classics and making something new and original instead- whether it is a doll or a movie or whatever it is. It was corney, made girls look stupid and that was the furthest thing from little girls minds when they were playing dolls. Well everyone can have an opinion.
Season 13 not as good- my only 2 comments are: Missed the cute Asian Man in Black until I thought I may have noticed him in the semi finals but not as much as last year for sure. And I knew it was Erica Kane the moment she stepped on the stage. How could the judges not guess her? So obvious. Definitely made me think it's all fixed to guess other people because if they blurted everyone out right away it would be a boring show. But I don't like obviously scripted things. .
Seriously, Season 12 Asian Men In Black was worth tuning in for! Is he a security guard and clue giver? He can protect as well as look good? Seriously though he makes the show interesting. This year the final two were both equal imo, but I was thinking it may be harder to harmonize and perform with costumes on with 3 people. But Mario was great! It looks like they had a lot of fun and respect for each other too. Great job. As always, the hosts try their best to guess and their acting in between the singers seem a little overboard - take it off, who is it! With such animated looks on their faces but it is all in fun I guess. Host Nick is always good.

Seriously! Who would sign up for this self-abusive show?! This is supposed to help a relationship and get the answers they are looking for? Advice to anyone thinking they need to do such a thing - you have the answer before you go there - your relationship is already in trouble and that's not love! Who could ever hand over a guy or girl you truly love to have a trial marriage with someone else and flaunt it in your face? This is not love. I understand that after so much time a guy or girl may give an ultimatum for a ring, but if they were feeling it, the guy would have already came up with it or at least given you a date or reason why (such as wants to finish his studies first or something), but if not it is clear that it is time to move on - you don't need this show to be further hurt. The most decent guy here is Calab and am thinking the other girl was actually a better match emotionally for him. He got forced into this and kept his dignity through this but you could see the better connection elsewhere by looking at his smile and eyes. The other person I felt sorry for was Nick because that would have driven any man crazy as his girl was going way too far from day 1 and was treated without empathy for what he was going through all by himself. Terrible.
First, have to note that Nichol Kidman is as beautiful as ever in this drama. As far as acting goes overall, the teo who stand out for me are both Shooter and Tom. Shooter, the kind of good looking guy you can fall for the first time you look in his gorgeous eyes and in the script that's exactly what happened.the first time Benji's fiancé met him. Tom, plays the cheating (swearword) husband perfectly - the jerk that does it behind his pregnant wife's back. He is also plays the jerk well at Benji - the cake scene was a classic and funny. Other than that I didn't notice any character except maybe the younger 17 year old kid that made me interested in the story. I found the ending very much predictable. The who done it murder mystery kept revealing secrets about everyone and you know by just knowing to follow the money.
Gave this an 8 rating because the basic concept of a "marriage service" agency and a FL who plays the wife is not new. Saw another one of these K-Dramas with the same concept, albeit a different script, that was much better. This script was very slow going but if you can stick with it, the ML gives off a strangely calming appeal when he warms up to the FL who is also usually a quiet type person. He is calming amongst all his emotional problems, turmoil with his x-wife and drug problems. He makes you wish you could just handle your own problems so calming as he begins to rely and fell comfortable with the FL and finally begins to realize what a trap he was in with his x-wife (thanks to the FL new contract wife). The music is nice which helps set the mood in the background for the love story. Ending just Ok, not all that satisfying IMO.
This Closing Dynasty is an extremely short story; only 16 minutes long. That's what caught my attention in the first place, figured I might as well watch it. The description said that the little girl, who was out roaming the streets instead of going to school, would make a discovery that could change everything. I never saw anything like that so I must have missed something in the 16 minutes of this film. Unless they were referring to the glass fake gem she found in the garbage that was worthless? Well i don't get it other than seeing a sad story of a young girl beyond her years on the streets.
Penthouse 2, more of the same continues from Penthouse I, shocking us at every scene. More outlandish drama even better and more complicated scripting than Penthouse I. Very fast moving. The drama is modeled after an Opera with the top Soprano being the heroine (Yun Hui). She comes up with a plan to prove herself as the real Champion Trophy Winner (from the past) in a way you will never suspect. Not sure if this is supposed to be a full out serious drama, but I find it so outlandish that it seems comedic too. The final once again leaves an opening for another season (which we know by now that it did materialize).
Update Penthouse III - wish I could rate these separately as I give 3 only 5 stars despite the fact I gave the first 2 10 stars. I think they should have stopped at II because there were more and more killings one right after another - how could there be any characters even left? They should have just blown them all up at once in the grand explosion of the building, however I didn't even like that part as it gave me flashbacks of the real twin towers coming down in New York and it is not something I want to see again even on a fake TV drama. Hung in there just to get it off my watch list. Didn't care for the ending as practically everyone was dead. Loved Episodes I and Ii though, III just was too much - enough is enough.
