A True Crime documentary edited for the format of television with its fifty million breaks alongside the headline.
This case, although tragic and quite disturbing, could have easily been edited down to a 20 minute story instead of a full our documentary.
For the true crime buff, rather watch something else.
A lot of stock footage and repetition of the same clips seen before in the same sequence, but 5 minutes ago from the same interviewee. The efforts to edit this documentary was sub par and I would recommend the Director to find another editor next time around and retire the current one from his contacts.

This documentary is a voyeuristic story from the documentary filmmakers, sharing the rise and fall (or perhaps the contrary, if she in fact is "Mother God") of Amy Carlson.
I was impressed by the number of footage and materials the documentary crew got hold of making a documentary film about this cult. The level of detail, sometimes hard to digest strong imagery of Amy in her last days alive, makes it all painful to watch.
Nevertheless, it's recommended to view this for proactive purposes: Just as any formation of a cult, to understand why and how they are shaped. Who is more inclined to join a cult at what stage in their life. What painful event/s happened to them as much as a reflection to how the US society addresses cults. Why I'm narrowing it down to the US is for the reason how legal vs. Illegal it is to form certain types of monetary cults in different countries. Germany, for example, banning all Scientologists.
Definitely worth a watch!
A bit of a surprise on the user reviews and social media comments about this documentary. The level of judgement and zero empathy for the lives of those who this documentary circles around.
Many, who's lives are relatable to the average american "joe". In the end, these are people that our society too failed to take care of.

Stumbling into this film, I knew very little about it. Being into the horror gameshow plots such as "Escape Room" and "Cube", I decided to give it a watch.
The film moreso reminded me of "Influencer", another film in the horror/dark comedy genre. This film tilts more towards goofy comedy and mediocre script and acting, as any classic horror movie.
It keeps you entertained and laughing at times, not necessarily because it's the best horror comedy you've ever watched, but because there's an element of fairness, integrity, values and influencer dynamics.
One will discover that it's not just everyday people who'll get on each others nerves...
Bonus that one can't tell it was all shot in South Africa with mostly south african actors/actresses.
