Couchzilla

I heard so much hype about this one so I was really looking forward to it. I had to cleanse my mind and try to come into watching this film with zero expectations as much as possible.

The first thing noticed about Godzilla vs. Biollante is the great practical effects. I love when they use practical effects vs cheap CGI effects. It makes the film feel more creative and organic.

The kaiju/monster design was another win for this film. Biollante was very impressive looking and the story of how it came about was an interesting one. Biollante is definitely one of the better kaijus of the Heisei era Godzilla franchise.

My only complain would be that some of the fights between humans could have been better written/choreographed and acted out with more intensity. Also the small amount of English lines spoken in this film were terrible.

Overall it was a fun late 80s Godzilla film that had a nice dark and gritty look to it. If you're a fan of Godzilla or older tokusatsu series it's a no-brainer go watch Gozilla vs. Boillante !

I had never heard of this OVA, but when I saw the trailer I was immediately interested. This is a fast paced action comedy that is entertaining all the way through. Once the film gets going it doesn't slow down.

The director Kenichi Sonoda got a lot of his influence for "Riding Bean" from American action films and American action movie heroes, which explains Bean's over the top character.

I really enjoyed the hand drawn animation. It's some of the best I've seen for this era. The music in this movie is also great. The director traveled to USA specifically to produce music for this OVA project to fit the American setting of the film.

If you're a fan of 80s and 90s action films or hand drawn anime I highly recommend this OVA movie. You will not be disappointed.

I'm sure you've heard it a TON of times. "Ghost In The Shell, a ground breaking sci-fi anime film". Well now is a great time to be your own judge.

The movie centers around "Section 9" a Public Security Group that investigate cyber-terrorism attacks.

Section 9, and it's cybernetic enhanced team of agents are investigating a case of recent illegal hackings from an anonymous hacker. I don't want to spoil much, but I'll leave you with this basic plot.

What makes this film great is the world director Mamoru Oshii fleshed out and brought to life. The paintings and animation paired with the amazing soundtrack and cinematography makes this film come to life in a very unique way. The amount of attention to detail in this film is incredible.

I encourage any fan of the sci-fi genre who hasn't seen this film to watch it.

I always catch something new on re-watch viewings and I never get bored of it. This film is an experience.
