Megan 2.0 is a completely different genre of film, but the story develops in an interesting way, raising many ethical and philosophical dilemmas, and the acting is very good. The antagonist Amelia was absolutely incredible. Ivanna Sakhno is clearly a new rising star in Hollywood, and we need more Ivanna Sakhno in films. The film could be called 'female Terminator,' and there is something to that. The plot develops quickly enough, so there are no moments when you get bored. The theme and story are not new, but in M3GAN 2.0, the story about the risks of AI is still interesting to watch. It demonstrates both the risk of radicals for new technologies and the risk of radicalism against technology in general. It is intriguing to see if we will see Amelia in M3GAN 3.0.
The film is a standard set of clichés about witches, with the only difference being that here we are probably talking about a teenage witch who is offended by her neighbour who got the better boyfriend. LOL. Overall, the film is mediocre and stereotypical. The 'screamers' and scary moments are not very scary, just a little frightening and a little creepy. I was not impressed by the film at all, but those who love the horror genre and have seen a lot of it can watch it once. The film deals with the themes of witchcraft, eroticism, the summer solstice and the traditional Ukrainian celebration of the solstice - the Kupala festival, as well as a witch's sabbath hidden from others, and the conflict between two girls over a boy. The graphics and makeup are mediocre. The story is mediocre. The development of events and the plot is almost completely predictable, with only a few unexpected twists. But again, those who are fans of the horror genre may find it interesting to watch.
In November 1971, Semen Hluzman prepared an independent forensic psychiatric examination in absentia in the case of General Petro Hryhorenko, which declared the General mentally healthy, contrary to the state point of view of the political regime in the USSR, proved the illegality of the use of repressive psychiatry methods against the General, that he was 'mentally ill' - prepared by specialists from the V. P. Serbsky Institute of Forensic Psychiatry and passed the examination to his American colleagues. In 1972, Semen Hluzman was sentenced (mainly for the said independent examination) to 7 years in concentration camps (in the Perm region), and additionally to 3 years in exile (in the Tyumen region). He served his sentence together with Ivan Svitlychnyi, Yevhen Sverstiuk, and Levko Lukianenko.
When you watch the film. You will understand why I wrote it. This does not describe exactly what is happening because the events in the film have been artistically altered. But I think it is based on this moment in Ukrainian history.
In general, the film is wonderful. The events are dynamic and interesting. The plot is fascinating. The acting is excellent. But the events are terrible. Nevertheless, we still need to know and remember them in order to resist the repetition of the methods of 'punitive psychiatry' in Russia and other dictatorships.
I definitely recommend this film.
