A good 2024 action, thriller, and drama film based on a real plane hijacking incident that took place in 1971.
Based on a true event, the film depicts an attempted hijacking of a Korean Air Lines passenger plane flying from Sokcho to Gimpo, intended to be diverted to North Korea. The film portrays what the passengers, crew, and especially the pilots (starring Ha Jung-woo) experienced during these dangerous and tense moments, and their efforts to regain control of the situation.
Carrying the weight of being based on a true story, the film offers a high-paced and tension-filled atmosphere. Although some visual aspects and partial fictional storylines might be noticeable, the desperation, fear, and struggle for survival experienced within the confined space of the aircraft are successfully portrayed.
Ha Jung-woo's performance as the cool-headed pilot and Yeo Jin-goo's performance as the young hijacker are quite successful. The tension between the two forms one of the film's key dynamics and serves as a reminder that "there are two sides to every story." The other actors also effectively conveyed the emotional intensity of their characters.
The real footage shown at the end is impactful. After watching many cliché productions on this subject, they have produced a fine film that doesn't leave the viewer disappointed.

Inspired by the experiences of the director's great-grandfather, Franz Streitberger, during World War II, the film centers on the unexpected bond formed between an Austrian motorcycle courier and an injured fox cub amidst the chaos of war.
One of the film's most striking aspects is its ability to handle the brutality of war and the delicate relationship between humans and nature in a balanced way. The bond between our main character, Franz, and the fox offers him hope and compassion in the midst of a life filled with loneliness and trauma. Simon Morzé's performance as Franz successfully portrays a character who speaks little but is full of emotion.

Set in the town of Holland, Michigan, the film deals with the mystery and suspense-filled events that develop as Nancy, who leads a perfect suburban life, begins to question her husband Fred's fidelity.
In terms of visuals and the created atmosphere, the directing is quite good. The acting is good; Kidman's performance, in particular, is very good.
The screenplay, however, is weak and inconsistent. Although it builds tension and mystery elements well in the first half, it loses momentum from the midpoint onwards, fails to deliver the expected twists, and becomes nonsensical.
In short, while the film stands out due to Kidman's performance, it doesn't fully deliver the constantly rising excitement and surprise expected from the thriller genre. Nevertheless, it could be an option for a quiet evening for those looking for a different visual experience.
