I saw this film on Amazon Prime and it met my expectations of a typical "massy" Rajni film. However, this was not a very memorable watch as the storyline was predictable. The fight sequences seemed a bit stretched and unrealistic. The editing could have been done to trim some scenes in the second half.

Fahad Fazil plays a very important character and injects the necessary amount of light heartedness into the film. Amitabh Bachan's presence and performance is one of the saving graces of this film.

Overall, though the movie seemed to have some sort of social message woven into the storyline, it did not evoke any intense emotion as the way the plot unfolded was easily guessable. The director goes overboard with references to "Superstar" in the bgm music which seemed very forced as it looked like he wanted to focus more on Rajnikanth's image rather than the portrayal of his character in the film. Nothing to rave about but one can definitely watch it one time on OTT.

The plot and the storytelling ensure that you are hooked till the end. The unusual storyline is something that one has become used to while watching VJS movies but this movie was a standout because of the amazing acting by all the key characters. Though the story unfolds in a non linear manner and require a certain degree of focus to connect the gaps, the sequences leading to the climax really make you want to jump and scream loudly in appreciation. Apart from VJS, the girl portraying the role of his daughter has played a good role of a strong confident teenager and Anurag Kashyap has also played a vital role that will remain etched in your memories. Highly recommend this movie to all cinema and VJS lovers who are looking for a memorable movie.

I saw this film today and initially I felt that maybe this film was another caste discrimination film but was pleasantly surprised about the way the caste differences were depicted. The humor elements are judiciously spread throughout the length of the film ensuring that the audience is hooked to storyline. The character who portrays Ashok Selvan's brother in the movie, has done a very commendable job and his performance was very memorable. Shantanu plays second fiddle to Ashok Selvan but has shown enough promise for people to expect him to play a solo hero role sometime in the future.

This will surely be a landmark film for Ashok Selvan as it is his first with his wife starring opposite him as the heroine.
