I really, really, really love this show. Keanu is of course a bonus here and you can take that as a good sign that this is worth your time.
I was a little undecided on Axel at first but found myself really warming to him. Stormare just does Stormare and it's perfect. Vivian Bang is hot and hilarious.
I highly recommend you give this show a chance. Season 2 is an improvement on season 1 and I sincerely hope they get to continue to make this show despite the fact it has largely flown under the popular TV radar, like many shows such as Last Man On Earth, Vice Principals and I'm Dying Up Here.

I wasn't sure what to make of this show at first and it was weird to see Howerton outside of Always Sunny.... (although he was also great in Fargo). But after a slow start, the show has really found it's feet and I hope it gets time to "find an audience" as they say.
It's quirky and fun and has a wealth of great characters, anchored by the always great Patton Oswalt.
Even though I am half a world away, I have been fascinated and obsessed by this era of NYC which, before now, has been criminally overlooked in the annals of historical documentation.
Certainly The Warriors had a lot to do with this fascination but I'm also equally compelled by the state of New York at that time, how areas like The Bronx were allowed to become third world slums and resemble a war zone.
I'd love it if the developed a documentary series or even some more fictional shows based on this era. The Get Down did a brilliant job of capturing and telling a story from this period but it was too short and I'd like to see something focused on the gangs and the grittiness.
