Zenos-Paradox

Hey, so, I had this amazing run of 8s, and maybe one I even wanted to 9, but now, I'm hitting all the wrong buttons because I'm getting 3s and 4s (ratings I usually reserve for the unappreciative and mean).

But when I finally finish stuttering my way through this, eh hm, film, and stop by to rate it, I see a single rating of 7. It seems, a rating by the *11 year-in-the-making* producer of this yawner. And I knew I had to get an unbiased review on here: My 4.

At first there's this magically appearing box, and I think it's going to lead to something interesting, surprising, suspenseful, action-packed... Well, this was just slow, and confusing. Was it an anthology? That'd explain some of my confusion (and partly early-onset senility).

Seriously, surely you'd have better luck with one of the other many "The Box" movies. Cheers, zp.

Okay, so it's got a 2.3 community rating that I didn't want to skew, but to me, a lot of thought went into the story. It had surprising twists and turns that I couldn't believe kept going; so much so I refused to pause for coffee, not wanting to see my good luck was inevitably, literally, minutes from The End.

I know, they took a still of a cabin (in the distance looking down a hill) with an old phone camera and patched the pic into 5 seconds of the movie, twice. That was annoying, bc I have no idea why the tiny cabin was involved. Although, the backdrops they rented from a children's play hour TV series set, like they have on "Sesame Street," only not that good, maybe took me back to my childhood when worries were rare. Or, like b/w, it's just a nice, very rare and temporary, switch to simpler times. You know, like when fights and blood were so obviously fake. Now, I have to query Google to ask if actors really punch each other and actually get injured. Result: Aapparently, real contact fight scenes are rare.

So, I wouldn't want to see a 2.3, even given an interesting---to me--story, more than once a year, but this I would have given a serious rating. However, I wouldn't assume all of you were idiots, and ooze stupidity in doing so, by giving this a "perfect" score of 10 and spewing nonsense about this being more brilliantly inspirational than the christian's jesus fairy tale.

Seriously, the odds are good you'll regret watching this, and there are lots of 5s and 6s with parts that are reasonably-funded and semi-pro that you might want to consider instead. 10s on a 2.3 average movie rating means LOTS of 1s and the 10s are extreme outliers or just outright lies trying to promote this show. I mean really, a PERFECT score?

Hi, so what can I say was good about the movie? Well, the trailer looked action-packed, and the movie stopped playing immediately after i clicked stop, which was about 3 seconds after watching the dinner fiasco ended, about 3 minutes after the movie started. The most offensive part of the dialogue was when he had to explain the bombings to her; though to be fair, the writer could have went with "unreported" MULTIPLE bombings she never even knew occurred; ya'know, bc they're in china where citizens believe beyond all doubt blue is whatever color xi says it is on any given day. The remaining dinner dialogue was bad, Bad, BAD in almost every way possible. The only way up from that scene was about a decade of practice, critical review and more practice; and I'll be worm-treat by then.

But really, don't trust my limited ability to express my thoughts, trust the OVERWHELMING majority of these reviews. Then consider the few over-the-top, glowing, positive reviews, and especially one that almost goes as far as to write, "This is the best movie ever made, 20/10," and another reviewer gives a PERFECT, 100%, 10/10, but I'll quote from over-the-top guy.

He/she/it wrote, "3) Anyone who thinks their opinion should be regaled as fact has a serious ego problem," which makes me wonder if he's admitting his review should be doubted or that he has a serious ego problem. But he continues with, "You'll notice the bad reviews never give any specific examples," though, in fact, most of the believable reviews describe many of the same "serious" problems. And others saw unique ones. And finally he adds, "They just use their review as an excuse to insult people. How disrespectful and juvenile," which makes me wonder why he's THE ONLY ONE insulting other reviewers with his "disrespectful and juvenile" remark.

As for my rating, I gave it 0.1 points above what the "majority of viewers" thought about it, since i saw so little and I'm posting this to defend the believables.

But a 10/10 masquerading as an average of 1.9/10? Can't give a 0, so imagine how many had to rate this a 1, only wishing there was a 0 rating.

Hope you read a few of these so you can move on and find one of the many 6s and 7s you have some real chance of enjoying. Unless, of course, you like watching 1s crash and burn.
