Most "E! True Hollywood" stories concern idiots who abuse their fame and fortune. This biography would be a wonderful alternative to the usual fare, except that Radner dies. It's a really nice story. If you're sick of hearing about spoiled brats and conceited pigs, this biography will offer a welcomed change of pace. However, the subject, Ms. Radner/Wilder, becomes endearing to the point where you really don't want to see the end. It was the only "True Hollywood" story that had an emotional impact on me (although I DO enjoy most of the stories). Radner's life stands as a testament to the fact that God challenges the best people with the most difficult tests of spirit. A great biography, but you may wish to create a diversion for yourself while you're watching it; it IS a downer in many respects.

I actually remember this show...fairly well, all things considered. OK, I was only 11 years old when it made its run, but my mother didn't find it funny, either. Not to diss on Gene Wilder. I wouldn't want to slam Gilda's husband too much, but I'd like to see him work on something successful again. I never was a huge fan of his (I guess I will be slamming Gilda's husband; sorry about that), but I'd like to see him take part in at least one more generally appreciated film. My parents are fans of his, though, and they really didn't like "Something Wilder." I remember it made the cover of the local "TV Guide." I wonder how...

"Escape From Sobibor" is my favorite movie. Even my mother, who rarely watches and usually never enjoys movies that are based on actual events, became very emotionally-involved with it. It's been my favorite movie since the 6th grade and it may well remain my favorite movie. The acting is superb, nothing is over-dramatized, and knowing that the movie isn't a cheap Hollywood "reproduction" of true life lures the viewer in.
