I feel like they hired a blob of red hair instead of an actress. Seriously. I really believe the person with the best hair got the job.
At the beginning of the film she thanks the man for watching her bike while it spent all night in front of her apartment but she rides it downtown and it's fine to leave in the street.
Whatever. One thing we can agree on, we all love Betty White but this movie was not good. I got a little tired of the red head making the same weird facial expression over and over. She honestly wasn't that attractive or that good of an actress. Or maybe she didn't have much to work with. The script was poor and so was the execution. Should have called the movie Rapunzel and the wish.

If this is one of the best shows out there then we are doomed. It's not amazing or anything but does have a small amount of appeal. The storyline centers around an all knowing woman that runs a bed and breakfast in addition to a spiritual shop called the bell book and candle. She doesn't appear in any scene with out some sort of sparkling blouse and she comes off as a little nosy and pushy . What annoys me is that at the end of every single scene the camera closes in on her face and the scene ends with only a dumb expression on her face, no words. It gets a little old.
She has a do-gooder relative that moves in and uses her own witchy ways to inconvenience and manipulate people into doing deeds that benefit herself. Her character is cocky and almost obnoxious.
The daughter, is cute but capable of overacting.
And then there is the mayor. I like her. She can't speak without holding her hands up but I pay attention to her wardrobe. I have never seen an overweight person look so good in clothes. And she has a different outfit on in every scene and they all look amazing.
Then there is the son who is a cop and his annoying bride Tara. I don't care for these scenes between the two. I find their discussions about having a baby too boring.
That leaves us with the kind doctor and his troubled son that moved in next door. The son can't act and doesn't have much of an endearing personality. Plus he just has too many teeth, I can't stop from being distracted. The father however (played by James Denton) is pretty much what holds the show together. He is the type of guy that all women would hope to meet, confident, smart, sincere, funny yet goofy. I love that Cassie and he become a couple but when they kiss I can't help but think he has bad breath. There is no believable chemistry.
Not sure if I will continue to watch.

I never saw this movie before. So I put it in my player and as i'm watching the opening credits And I see Annette bennings name , and I think to myself i'm not crazy about her and I see ben kingsley's name and still not excited But when I caught chlorus leechman and ellen burstyn I said to myself i'm gonna watch this. Besides the poor chemistry and Nauseating couple The soundtrack was horrendous. Nothing Makes me more ill than horrendous. Drum rolls substituting as a soundtrack. I should have. Stuck with my initial hunch and skipped the movie when I saw annette benning and ben k Kingsley. To make the movie even more annoying they stuck in some documentary Aspects. I'm sorry, but this leading woman and leading actor don't do it for me. In fact they turn my stomach Who wants to hear Ben Kingsley Say, "make me hard". That's when I chucked the disk out of my player. I came close to throwing up.
