I must echo the sentiments of many others who said the first part of this movie is great. The setup is fantastic even though it is nothing new (Duel & Phantasm come to mind). The brother/sister dynamic helped me to identify with characters that may otherwise have been unlikable. What prevented this from being a great horror movie (other than the ending and loose ends) was the revelation of the "creeper". The shot of the shape in an overcoat and brimmed hat watching the kids' car as it slowly passed the church for the first time was perfect. The car walking scene was also great. If you are a horror/slasher fan, you will enjoy this movie, you will just wish you could have taken over as producer of the movie after the first hour. Oh, what could have been!! 7 out of 10
I deliberately ignored all information regarding this movie so i could see it without prejudice. I wanted in the worst way to believe that BW2 would somehow be as innovative and creative as the first. What i saw was "executive producers" Daniel Myrick & Eduardo Sanchez sell the name "Blair Witch" to pad their wallets. Notice how they had nothing else to do with the movie? The premise of this movie was good enough: People intrigued after seeing the original footage set out to form their own conclusions. That was the only good thing about this movie. Terrible script, worse acting, and predictable scenes made this very hard to watch. Not even worth the price of a rental. I used to think that Psycho II was a sacrilege. This movie has done nothing but provide people who disliked the original with ammunition to say "i told you so".
I have seen Sesame Street home videos that are much more enjoyable than this theatrical release. My 2 year old daughter loved it though, and I guess that's the target audience. The lesson this movie tries to teach is "sharing". I feel that the home video "learning to share" does a much better job.
