This episode is the one where Amy has to face some realities. The horse she got from her father is absolutely over the top in jumping ability. The problem is that her training has caused her to fail classes. She has her chores. She is looking after a lame horse. And gets no joy out of her accomplishments. She realizes that This is more about Tim than about her. He wants her at the A level in jumping.
Lou continues to battle for her huge project and Jack is holding back until something happens.
Mallory has moved in and is as obnoxious as ever.
Everyone has growing pains but things are moving forward. Ty is back as a significant character.

This is one of those episodes where everything is off kilter. Ty has returned because Jack promised him that he would be welcome. But there's the other guy. Both are interested in Amy (perhaps in different ways). She is resentful big time because he left and then never contacted her.
Tim buys a top of the line jumping horse and gives it to Amy as a birthday present. Jack gets more resentful because he feels Tim is using money to make up for his lack of connection to the girls.
Lou puts in motion the creation of her corporate riding thing, but Jack won't let her tear down a bunch of ramshackle buildings.
There is so much tension in this episode which will lead to other developments.
