We tried to give this a fair chance.
After three episodes we just can't take any more.
The writing is just lame, pedestrian. And unoriginal.
The directing is downright awful, from the blocking and staging, to allowing rather sad performances to make the final cut.
And the acting is pretty awful from some people that are better than this.
There are pathetic and cringe-worthy moments that really stand out: Who does not mute their phone in a church?
Who does not mute their phone in even a restaurant?
Why are we seeing multiple police personnel walking around loudly and openly discussing ongoing investigations?
All these things may be convenient to move a show forward, but it's making the show seem like an amateur (or even high school level) play.
Maybe watching every single episode of Midsomer has spoiled us (yes - even the latest not very good seasons) for how to make a somewhat spoofy mystery series.
This is just unwatchable.
Skip it and find something worth your time.
A pretty setting does not make up for the bad execution.

I've never been a fan of Zooey Deschanel's 'wide-eyed befuddled amazement' acting, so it was handicapped going in, but she really has one expression in this mess and it really grates after ten minutes, let alone hours of it.
I know this is going on 20 years old at this point, but the CGI is pretty awful for something that relies on it so heavily. I know it likely had a limited budget, but regardless, it's pretty bad.
The 'storm trooper' bad guys is already an overplayed cliche by 2007 and shows a cliche lack of creativity.
I just don't see a lot of imagination or effort in the writing, and the whole thing comes off as very pedestrian.
Nine Emmy nominations?
I just don't see it.
Even the award for makeup is a stretch.
It's just slightly better than most of the crap that SciFi produces, and that's a low bar indeed.

Sorry guys - this is pathetic.
They have spent far more time advertising this show than the actual length of the actual show - the episodes are about 32 minutes.
There has been hours and hours of promos for this.
How many millions did they spend on this?
I guess it's really just an advertising mechanism to get people to subscribe to the streaming channel?
They are not funny - the humor is forced and awkward.
We don't really learn anything about cars.
The chemistry is awful.
The scenarios are just lame and they don't even try - they don't have the time in a half hour.
Just skip it - not worth your time even at 32 minutes.
