Macross Plus is one of my all time favourite movies let alone anime / manga movie! It is a superb mixture of action and character driven drama with an awesome soundtrack provided by Yoko Kanno.

The story has been brilliantly crafted into the Macross universe - being set 30 years since the Earth and the Zentraedi war (ala Robotech).

There are two versions of Macross Plus. There is a full length Movie (which I'm yet to see - but I hear has a nude scene) and the more common 4 part-er. They are both suppose to be the same yet different and hold on their own right.

There are about 4 albums available from Soundtracks to Sharon Apple 4 Track Mini-EPs.

Macross Plus is "dedicated to all pioneers" - something these people truly were.

Wow ... I was totally captivated when I first saw this movie. Based on a book and completely in French with English Sub-titles, it tells a great story about the fears and differences in races. The music is absolutely brilliant, setting the scene perfectly (ala 70s wah-wah) and it was this that initially grabbed my attention. Also, the artwork is exception, especially for it's time.

This is must watch movie - I'd love to get it on DVD -- but I can't find it anywhere. :(

Civvies is an excellent, gripping drama about a groups of ex-paratroopers who leave army life to start a security firm. The 6 parts revolve around the bombing of a pub when they were in Belfast.

Jason Isaacs plays Frank Dillon, a real anti-hero, who has to deal with life in civilian (civvies) clothes.

There are also notable performances by Peter O'Toole and Peter Howitt (from UK TV Show Bread - the first "Joey").
