I can not believe this show is even airing. This is such a ripoff of Whose Line is it Anyway. Don't even mention the announcer.. (some guy who thinks he is funny but is obviously not.) Also, why didn't they choose kids with a sense of humor to be the contestants on this show? These kids are average joes who just make idiots out of themselves while tryng to be funny. The shows editors arent even adding laugh tracks. This show is a waste. If you take a look at kids shows that were aired 10 years ago, they were much higher quality in entertainment value, all of these new shows are cheap and not humorous at all. This show should be burned and the ashes should be destroyed as well.
The Munsters Today, featuring an all new cast, was a great show. In the beginning, it was based on situations much like the original 1960s series but later started using its own style. Grandpa is still blowing up the lab, and Marilyn is still "the ugly one". It shows the family going about their daily lives. Herman goes to the funeral parlor every morning, Eddie and Marilyn go to school, Lily stays home and cooks and cleans, and Grandpa expirements in his lab. After the second season, the show settled down from basing itself on the original show and the plot started to change. Eddie became a 16 year old teenager who enjoys his MTV, dirty jeans, and tshirts. Eddie isn't the only one to change, Marilyn is finally getting dates and is starting to get into the fashion industry. Although the show did have its own scripts, there have been a few "remake" episodes of the original series such as "Just Another Pretty Face" where Herman is transformed into a normal looking human. and "Designing Munsters" where Lily gets a job. The show also had a few faults. The original 60s sitcom was filmed rather than video taped. The set was also very elaborate, separate from being on a low-cost rented set. The actors can never measure up to the original cast, but they still do a very good job of imitating the roles the original actors created. If you can ever find someone with tapes of The Munsters Today, I suggest you ask for a copy so you can see for yourself what a great show that was.
If you're a munsters collector, this is the perfect addition to your collection. This very rare pilot has only been aired once in 1973 on ABC as one of their Saturday Morning cartoon specials. Herman, Eddie, Grandpa, and Lily are informed that Igor and Lucretia (their cousins) are coming to the United States for a visit from Transylvania. Eddie is at the age where he is starting his own band and when Igor and Lucretia arrive, they help out. After a while, Herman, Grandpa, and Lily are getting a bit tired of the constant music at the house and Herman promises Eddie a car to drive to the school to practice his music there. As a new invention, Grandpa has designed a machine that will not let Eddie drive too fast. As a result, Eddies car is run on Music. A new business that has just come into town selling their own brand of gas is upset with this and is out to destroy the Munsters and their music machine. Soon, the whole city is using Grandpa's invention. The new gas company has planned to steal spot for ransom to get the music machine. The leaders of the company destroy Grandpa's machine and the family gets their pet back. As soon as they get home, Grandpa starts to rebuild the machine. To make a long story short, the machine gets rebuilt, the family is back together, and the show is over. What makes this cartoon enjoyable to watch is knowing that it has only been on tv once a very long time ago, and that it is very rare. For an unknown reason, Marilyn Munster does not appear in this.
