StudioAT was right regarding that review.
Another theme that is getting repetitive is people suffering from depression or mental illness. How many characters have been disposed of with this theme? These certainly are horrific ailments, but do we have to deal with them EVERY SINGLE EPISODE! Can't the writers come up with some other personal issue? Can't the midwives be happy, contented, and fulfilled from time to time?
It would be refreshing to bring some of the departed midwives back, even for only one episode. This would provide a lot of new material for the writers, and the audience would enjoy catching up with our favorites. Especially we want Chummy to come back - permanently!

The pilot sucked so much that it created a vortex vacuum strong enough to pull all the loose objects in the room into the TV. The plot makes no sense. The acting is stiff and abysmal. People seem to worship an enviro-god named IO. Artificial intelligence with the ability to learn is the stuff of nightmares. There is mention of the true God but only as an abstraction, and there is a brain-warped character who resembles how people would think of Jesus. IO has created a small area of garden-like beauty resembling the Garden of Eden, but why hasn't IO done this for the whole moon, or why didn't it fix the earth? How can people in this garden area look up through a BLUE sky to the earth above? How does the oxygen stay in the garden area but not extend past the fence? The moon has one-sixth gravity, but people walk around just like it is earth. How can the pelican soar in one-sixth gravity?
I give it 8 stars because it is not another (yawn) crime drama, it does not take place in Chicago, it has nothing to do with NCIS, and the acting is no worse than anything else on TV. It reminds me of Otherworld (1985) where a family fell through a pyramid. Since there are other villages and sinkholes in La Brea, there are opportunities for other plots next season, or clear up some plot holes from this season (like how did that guy get electrocuted?). The show is filmed in Australia, and the scenery is worth the watch.
