What fun this must have been to make. Lund, Tierney, Hopkins, and Ritter. Add, mix, and stir. Not a Citizen Kane. Everything has its place and time. This film is for when you want to have pure fun with some very classy actors. Glad I happened upon it.

I have loved Miriam Hopkins ever since Trouble in Paradise. It was great to see her here about 20 years later. And this is the most extensive role I've ever seen Thelma Ritter in. She brightens everything she touches. And Tierney shows her range. This is the same woman that watches a child drown in Leave Her to Heaven with that unforgettable dead face stare.

Many reviewers here have commented on Hitchcock comparisons. And Wilder and Stanwyk. One thing I have loved about Hitchcock is he always admonished his audience to enjoy the film, the thrill, they mystery, and not get too involved in the plot. Heck. Half his plots make little sense to me McGuffin and all but I love his films. Anna Kendrick is a joy to watch. I've seen this 3 going on 4 times. It's fun and high energy while the ending isn't as crisp as I'd have liked it's a great ride.

Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah shows us in this film what it means to confront fear, obstacles, and challenges, and overcome. This man, in spite of being born without one full leg, being abandoned by his father, and cast aside in a country where the disabled are shunned and ignored, decided on one course of action. And that was to become the best he could at whatever God put in front of him. He redefines what it means to be disabled and let things get in the way of becoming the person you want to be. Lisa Lax and Nancy Stern have given us a lovely and inspiring portrait of a unique man. All of us so blessed with opportunities and unparalleled blessings would do well to watch, learn, and be humbled. The Free Wheelchair distribution scene Emmanuel organized for the people in his own home town is some of the most disturbing and touching video you can watch. Emmanuel long ago stopped thinking of himself. His heart is so outwardly focused that his example can only make us better people ourselves.
