Not a new concept, reminiscent of the Matrix and a little bit of Alien. While not all the dialogue lands, it's not a bad movie at all. No blood and guts for the most part. Some violence, but mostly anxiety. Definitely need to pay attention a bit more than the usual scary alien versus military shoot em up style. Can't say it's a story that you'll remember fondly but definitely didn't feel it was a waste of time. There was enough backstory for the characters to feel some connection to them. The special effects weren't too shabby, better than TV movies. There's even a small after credit scene that makes you think a bit.
Literally most of it is so dark I could barely see what was happening. Streamed on Paramount Plus, maybe that was the issue?
Otherwise, the scare factor is good and the acting was decent.
The events take place at the beginning of Covid era lockdown. The two college aged friends escape to a remote family cabin (more like a country mansion) to ride out the pandemic. But, they aren't alone...
Usual slasher fare until the last 20 minutes when the "why" of it all is revealed. I literally said "really?" out loud.
Ultimately, the premise is a bit thin and unsatisfying - it was trying to be clever but left me rolling my eyes.

Not a 10 but perfectly enjoyable. Sci-Fi Action is very subjective but this does not deserve a rating of 1, 2, 3 etc . Just other studio shills or miserable hacks, ignore them.
