i thought this movie, though hard to watch at times, was better than most that i've seen-to explain why would hint at the ending. i guess i can say that it didn't constantly portray women as brainless victims (not for the entire film, anyway). if you're the type of person who gets annoyed at how jamie lee curtis or neve campbell react in their roles, you should see this movie. it's gritty and disturbing, but in a good way.
this was a show mtv aired in the early 1990s when they were experimenting with good, creative series like 'liquid television', 'the idiot box', 'the state', etc. the show consisted of viewers writing in funny "real-life" stories (most often embarassing ones from their adolesence), and jon stewart introducing segments re-enacted by members of the state.
i saw this when it first came out, and was like "what the f**k??" yet at the same time i was intrigued by it. judd nelson, wayne newton, and a third arm? wow. plus adam rifkin's style was so unusual, with his bizarre focus on blump's (squeezable bacon? yum) and the kitty clock. i pitied judd nelson's character, for having such a sad existence, with a friend that would b.s. him about his (non-existent) comedic abilities.
the movie didn't change my life or anything, but i can honestly say that i have yet to see any other movie like it.
