It's a PG movie with a current teen heart throb and a young pop star, with a cheesy tag line on the poster. How great can it be? but i went anyway because hey, i've always liked SHane West since Whatever it Takes. After i left the theater, the movie stuck with me so much, i went back to see it again and again, in fact, an unhealthy number of times. and everytime, i pulled something new from it. This movie was more than just "boy meets girl, young love". There were many dynamics to the story. It's a story involving forgiveness, humility, and faith. The movie's song "only hope" sung beautifully by Mandy Moore, written by Jonathan Foreman (of Switchfoot, formerly The New Radicals), is easily interpreted (if not firstly written) as a christian worship song. (Switchfoot is a christian band). The relationship between Landon and his father is parallell to a persons relationship with God, and the way you approach him. This movie was incredible, and a life lesson. About how many people you'll miss out on if you limit yourself with first impressions and stereotypes. About having faith in yourself and other people. Understanding the depth and possibility of love at any age. A lesson in forgiving others and learning how to humble yourself and ask for help. So i challenge everyone to put aside their "this is pure candy" remarks, and pull one of the many lessons given here.
the first time i saw Til there was you, i liked it for it's cuteness, but it kinda went by slowly...but then i had an urge to watch it again, and i was able to catch more about the connections between Nicholas and Gwen. i love how EVERY time i watch it, i discover some new path crossing i didn't catch before. i really do like this movie.
