We forced ourselves to watch the entire movie "First Shift" in the hope that it would improve, but that proved to be a complete waste of time! It had a bad storyline, bad dialogue, bad directing, bad editing, and so on!
To give you an example, they step into their car while it is raining, start moving, and suddenly it is totally clear and sunny. When they stop and get out of the car only a few blocks away, it is cloudy and raining again, all in Manhattan! The acting is even more ridiculous. One of the characters loses a family member; the next thing you know, she is playing a drinking game with her partner! The ending is the ultimate insult to anyone who tolerated the film that far!
I highly recommend you watch something else and do not waste your time with this movie!

This episode of "The High Chaparral" had me oscillating between laughter and cringes. According to today's standards, certain scenes and dialogues feel decidedly in the last century. For instance, the scenes where Buck and others extol the "virtues" of alcohol or where Buck gets Frances intoxicated are problematic in today's light. However, the episode can still be entertaining if you can overlook these dated elements.
The performances, especially those of the lead characters, are engaging and capture the spirit of the era in which the show was made. Additionally, while reflecting its time, the storyline provides a mix of humor and drama that can appeal to fans of classic Westerns. Despite its outdated aspects, "Tornado Frances" offers a nostalgic glimpse into the past, showcasing the charm and challenges of early television storytelling.

This episode was fun to watch but full of historical inaccuracies! The primary guest character is a dentist named Dr. Henry, who is traveling alone toward Tombstone, AZ. He saves Blue, Joe, and Pedro's lives by showing the gang of Apaches chasing them a belt that he claims was given to him by none other than Cochise. He also saves Blue from three bandits who had slaughtered a cow on the ranch. Later, when the same bandits kidnap Blue, the good Doctor seems to join them with them to collect the ransom. Without giving away the ending, the good doctor's identity is revealed at the very end by Buck who makes his first appearance in the show. By then, most of the viewers who know about the history of the Old West that Dr. Henry is none other than Doc Holiday and will let you know that he never had a gunfight of any kind with Kid Curry! Furthermore, Doc Henry looks very healthy and strong as compared to the real Doc Holiday who was struggling with tuberculosis. Oh, by the way, Kid Curry died about seven years after Doc Holiday!
Regardless of all these silly inaccuracies, the episode is entertaining and worth your time if you are a fan of Westerns.
