I found it really funny. I enjoyed it. Because this things can happen. So I appreciate it and want to let the director know that, he should create next season. Where Lydia.and Nate's copulation life will be shown with romanticism and spice. To make it more funny and serious their marriage can be happen. And also the real pregnancy should happen (what we have expected on episode 3).
I know the director is frustrated about the negative reviews. But it is a taste of rare people. So some of this type of work should create for this special kind of audiences. Please go ahead and create new episode of this work.

This is my first review on here ever, and I only did it cause I was surprised at how bad the reviews of this show are. I personally find it entertaining and pretty funny. It's not like rolling on the floor laughing, but for me nothing is. I rarely laugh out loud at shows with the exception of Broad City or something, but with these kind of 20 min mainstream comedy shows I NEVER laugh as they are usually horrible. This one is actually entertaining and funny. So not sure why it's getting bad reviews. You should definitely check it out and see for yourself, and don't rely on the few bad reviews that it has so far. It's funnier than the other new similar style show "Kevin From Work" which for some reason has much better ratings. I watch both and find the other one just OK, but I laughed more often at Significant Mother.
So i'll give them that the idea is new and original and the comedy pops in some scenes but I literally yawned right in the middle of the pilot and in the second episode i started writing this review !!! i don't know exactly what it is but i think the element of "staying tuned in" is missing because i knew that i won't be laughing hilariously in most of the scenario so fast-forward not it doesn't really matter.
So the sitcom looked okay , Richard Keith and Erin Cardillo are young writers and seem talented but i bet CW made something on the script (as they usually do) to make it appear less catchy if i might say.
The casting is fine .. Nathaniel Buzolic acting naive and rational and the stressed closed in boss Josh Zuckerman and i liked the funny surprise appearances by Jonathan Silverman .. and yeah .. Krista Allen performance is awful .
Overall , i do have a mixed feeling about this show ... the idea is new but still not convinced that it could be a continuing hit for CW .. i'll probably watch the next couple of episodes but if the rhythm stays as it is now i don'e think i'll bear keep on watching it.

Serves up laughs, awkward moments, and unexpected twists in the world of modern relationships! This show is all about mixing romance, humor, and a touch of cringe-worthy situations that'll keep you entertained from start to finish.
Meet Nate Marlowe, played by the hilarious Josh Zuckerman. He's a nice guy who's just trying to navigate life and his job at a trendy restaurant. But things take a wild turn when he discovers that his best friend and roommate, Jimmy, played by Nate's impressive Krista Allen, is dating Nate's own mother, Lydia, portrayed by the vivacious and lovely Linda Gray.
You heard that right - it's the ultimate awkward situation! As if that wasn't enough, Lydia is recently divorced and living her best single life, which adds an extra layer of hilarity to the mix.
The show has a knack for balancing witty humor with heartfelt moments, exploring the complexities of love, friendship, and family dynamics. You'll find yourself laughing out loud at Nate's misadventures and cringing with second-hand embarrassment at some of the situational comedy.
As the series progresses, you'll witness the characters grow and develop, as they grapple with the unorthodox situation they find themselves in. It's a tale of self-discovery, unconventional love, and the importance of embracing the unexpected.
"Significant Mother" has a charming and quirky ensemble cast, each bringing their own flair to the story. They have a natural chemistry that makes the comedy feel genuine and relatable.
Now, some critics might say that the show occasionally relies on familiar sitcom tropes, and yeah, it's true that it has its share of comedic clichés. But it's the delightful performances and the unexpected twists that make it a delightful watch.
So, if you're in the mood for a light-hearted and amusing comedy series with a unique premise, "Significant Mother" is a must-see. It's a fun and heartfelt exploration of love, family, and the delightful messiness of modern relationships. Grab some popcorn and get ready for a laughter-filled journey with Nate and his significant mother!

I find the whole premise of this show distasteful and VERY implausible. I do not have a problem with older woman/younger man relationships, I prefer them myself. What I do find distasteful is that it is between a guys mother and his best friend and in the apartment that the friends share, it shows that they gave no consideration to the son/friend. All relationships affect other people and their feelings/relationships should at least be considered even if they are going to be discarded or ignored.
I do not know about other people but I would not want to try to sleep each night knowing that my "best friend" is banging my mother in the next room. I would not be comfortable getting up in the morning and seeing my mother in her underwear at the breakfast table.
My first reaction would be to move out of the apartment, if they want to have a relationship fine but it does not have to be thrust into the sons face every moment of the day. This type of situation would adversely affect the relationships of the son with both the "best friend" and mother. In fact I would no longer consider him my best friend.
What is even more implausible is that any middle aged woman (especially a very beautiful & sexy one, ex Bay Watch babe) would even consider having a serious long term relationship with a man that behaves like a child and who's IQ probably does not even reach double digits. The only thing they could have in common is sex which is not enough to build a long lasting relationship on, trust me, I know from experience.
This is indicative of some of the morals being espoused on US TV shows these days. Another example is Pretty Little Liars, 15yr old girl having a sexual relationship with her 20-something teacher, wrong and illegal on so many levels, not to mention that they meet in a bar and have sex within minutes in a dirty disgusting toilet (at least 2 laws broken right there, 15yr old in a bar & statutory rape/sex with a minor).
