It's the kind of comedy? That would be used to make prisoners talk. Sitting through just the first five minutes felt like i was being tied to a chair and forced to stare at pure nonsense. I thought that racism was supposed to be a bad thing well apparently not according to BBC as they think it's a good idea to make a reference to white people not being able to cook.
I'm not too sure who thought it was a good idea to label it as a "comedy". I seriously think watching paint dry would be funnier than this dull and depressing "comedy".
The actors/actresses are the most annoying people I have ever listened to. I feel bad for the TV speakers for undergoing such pain of their voices.

It's quite amazing that they gathered some good, funny actors and still managed to create something so unwatchable. It's like the BBC are just completely detached from what real life is, they appear to be hiring anyone and everyone to write this tripe for them.
I would recommend doing everything in your power to to avoid watching this.

Arslan and Hannah are about to celebrate Christmas - well, sort of. Arslan is Muslim and doesn't believe in it, but his festive resistance softens somewhat when he receives an unexpected £8,000 from work. The family then head off to Lapland.
New original content is in short supply this Christmas, and I really wanted to enjoy this. Unfortunately, there's very little here to recommend it. I'd go as far as to say it's dreadful.
The script is atrocious. It's badly written, the so-called jokes barely register, and the whole thing looks cheaply made. It constantly opts to shout rather than observe, with all the subtlety of a reindeer with a flashing red nose and a megaphone.
Things briefly improve when Sue Johnston appears - the single chink of light in an otherwise joyless affair. Her performance is on an entirely different level to everyone else's. Guz Khan, sadly, is excruciatingly bad. Credit to the two children, though; they were genuinely good and showed far more natural ability than most of the adults.
I did wonder whether this might have worked with a different cast and a lighter touch, but the answer is almost certainly no. The writing simply isn't strong enough.
The dancing couple genuinely made my skin crawl.
I'm almost awaiting awards recognition for Sue Johnston out of sympathy alone, although her agent really should be protecting her from material this weak. She's vastly superior to this.
2/10.

The first 15 minutes were so bad I had to turn it off. Absolute garbage. Two other people watching it with me thought the same. I cannot believe this was actually made. To think that people who pay for a BBC TV licence actually had their money go towards making this. Dont waste your time on it. It is so bad.
From seeing Guz Kan on Buzzcocks, expectations weren't high anyway, but he managed to sink to even deeper depths with this dire totally unfunny attempt at comedy. Terrible acting, poorly written. This highlights the levels BBC have fallen to. Hardly watch BBC anyway but this is a typical reason to avoid it even more. Truly shocking and gave it a single star as unable to give a zero or even a minus rating!! Avoid this at all costs!!
