It was difficult getting through this film. Not one of the characters seemed human. Lots of ideas which don't really fit together. A very disjointed film in that quirks of each character are revealed, but it all seems meaningless. There is no suspense, apart from.just waiting for the end of the film. Many scenes are drawn out. The men are all unecessarily quiet or grumpy. When the kid asks 'where are we going' I felt exactly the same way about the film. It seems like the director started filming without a script, and then just made it up as he went along, but never really coming up with a consistent thread or story. "You look to the stars? I look to the stars. Some say fools look to the stars. You're not wrong. Four sides, four different winds. Energy comes from all around you and is drawn to the earth"

If that type of dialogue is gripping for you, as well as other unrelated and disjointed hippy pseudoscience, then maybe you'll like this film. My guess is most audiences are more sophisticated. Well, anyway; overall a film with little emotion, little engagement with the characters and a meandering 'plot' (using the word plot loosely).

Yip that is what i do now to find out the real reviews; quite sad really that the ratings cannot be relied upon now to find good movies to watch - The first 10 reviews on here are all false shills with only one review under their belts and giving a movie 9 or 10 means its the best movie you have ever seen imho and those come about once in a blue moon if you are a real movie goer these days.

Then come the real reviews - A soon as I saw the 1/10 reviews I kinda knew what to expect and should have switched off but due to my Movie-OCD once I have started to watch I must finish and so I did - Damn OCD!!! lol >;O)

Well , what can I say but ... you guessed it , the 1/10 reviewers were kinda right. I would rate the movie more of a 3 out of 10 as it does have some merit and has some pathos and thought provoking moments but it really could have been condensed into a short 30 min episode of Under The Dome!

The brooding story takes a long time to coalesce, especially with the presentation being so disjointed; nevertheless with excellent acting and quality cinematography it remains absorbing. It succeeds in creating a sense of transcending time & space but by the time it finally comes together its a bit of a letdown as far as the supernatural elements. Even so, the human drama aspect is powerfully delivered.

Its a pointless, dull and very disjointed movie. How do people imagine such clap trap and then have the nerve to force it onto others in the name of art?

I am at a total loss with this film, what on earth is all that rubbish about crystals, its just crazy mixed up mumbo jumbo.

Give it a miss...please.

A quirky little indie film thats got a little piece of magic. Well written, well acted and beautifully shot. Check this one out.. Ratings shmatings!

Don't expect a point. There is none. Stilted acting, nonsensical plot with babbling about conspiracy theories, metaphysical nonsense, and pointless artsy shots that are supposed to be meaningful. Don't waste your time on this one, and don't believe the fawning reviews.

This is the type of movie that you have to pay attention to. It is not full on action packed, it is a thinker! I drove 5 1/2 hours to see this at a film festival and I would do it all over again! If you are the type of person that likes to truly fall in love with characters and understand them from the depths of their souls, then watch this movie! You won't regret it!

This is a family drama. Good acting but the plot and characters seem to go in different directions. If you're looking for good Sci-Fi this is not it. And yes, I registered just to tell you this.

Seriously now i am convinced the ratings here are not accurate! This movie has a lot of 10/10 ratings and that is just beyond impossible! Either that or most people just don't know what a good movie is and like absolute tripe like this waste of time film! This yawnfest is so slow it is like watching paint dry and the story( ( iate to even call this a story) is just bad and unbelievable.

This movie has no point. The only thing i got out of this is the writers really like the idea of crystals having some magical powers or something? The "machine" the guy is working on makes no sense. The only reason i'm giving this 3 stars is because the filming was good, if there was some sort of meaning behind the plot it would be enjoyable. I don't understand how there are so many good reviews for this film

I came close to falling asleep during this movie. It was slow going, the characters were emotionless, and for most of the movie there didn't even seem to be a plot. That describes about the first hour to hour and ten minutes of this 1h 37m flick, but in the last half hour or so it surprisingly started to come together and gain my attention. The characters remained boring cyborgs, but their relationships became clearer making you care more about them, and an actual plot appeared out of the mist as well. I still felt like they could have expanded the ending a little more, especially since the film finally started to become interesting, but at least after watching the first 66% of it as a snoozefest I didn't feel as cheated with the improved final third of the movie. It was kind of like going on a boring date and then getting a nice kiss at the end that makes you kind of forget that the first part of the date had been forgettable.

A train wreck of ineffective emoting and pseudo-scientific silliness. Perhaps the creators took solace in a line from the interminable wasteland of a script: "Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it's not there." Absent anything remotely passing for writing, acting, or a plot, they nevertheless held out hope that the audience would somehow view this as more than just an hour and thirty-seven minutes of new age nonsense sprinkled with facile feelings. Sadly, their faith in the suspension of disbelief was sorely misplaced.

"He came here for a little while, but he's gone back.,, Randy's not here. A few years ago, remember when I got so sick? I died! No heart, no lungs, no brain. And that's why I can stand here and say he's not in this pot. Eternity is our home. I know that. It's for sure. It's true." Those giving this movie a 10 want to preach this movie quote to you. In reality, this movie was slow, boring and stupid, It combines Tesla woo with Crystal woo and a movie trope orphan and his hard-hearted non-believing uncle. Garbage. Not the science fiction I was hoping to find.

We find here some really incompetent 1-3 star reviews. I understand why some rated it low; it's a slow burner that didn't meet sci fi expectations or fill anyone's adrenaline addiction. But this film deserves far greater recognition. If this had been a dramatization of a real event, it might have been regarded as an exceptional film. They could have dropped the science fiction wrapping and made this simply a film about humanity and relationships; it would have served far better and perhaps been more highly regarded.

But in this case the sci fi is merely a sub-plot within a greater story. The trappings were about plant growth, but in truth the overall film is about personal growth.

If anything, the science fiction element detracts a bit from this, which is why I give it 8 stars instead of 10. But that 8 stars is for directing, cinematography, music and some of the best acting we've seen in quite some time. Clayne Crawford does an exceptional job in the main role. The supporting actors do very well. That's the real winner in this: the characters are believable. The sci fi is just sort of thrown in.

Overall the story being told is good-- a far distance from "one of the worst movies ever made". Those who rated this 7 to 10 stars have good reason for doing so.

If one is into spaceships, aliens, huge planetary explosions, laser battles, space babes or disaster flicks... this isn't the film for you. But if one goes into this looking for good acting, sensible story telling and unique characters, while the plot is a little unexpected... this is a gem of a film.

The guy drives a $40K truck, lives in a nice home and his only income is from fixing weedeaters and chainsaws. Tesla died in '43 and the protagonists father was working on things stolen from Tesla's apartment. He doesn't tell his son, hoping the torch might be passed. Instead, he hides his notes in a place where only a idiot would stumble across it. There are SO many things wrong with this movie. But pretend to be a crotchedy old reclusive 'genius' with some shoddy heroes arc and see what sticks. This is one of those movies that never should've been made.

My guess is that all of the positive reviews were written by cast and crew, yes, acting is actually good, but the story...

If you hate shaky hand held or claustrophobicly close camera shots with weak writing you'll hate this movie. Weak plot, competent acting bad editing and directing. All those good reviews were submitted by cast and crew and associated family members. Avoid
