The story stays true to its origin with vivid imagery and great voice over. The English voice over is impressive, with that of Krishna being the best, conveying a calming influence over Arjun. The true essence of the Gita from the 11th Adhyay is portrayed in Episode 2. Grand visuals, sharp storytelling and a wonderful title track make it a watchable treat. Great attempt in retelling an ageold, timeless classic.

Kurukshetra on Netflix isn't just another mythological adaptation - it's a cinematic narration that brings the Mahabharata alive with grandeur, soul, and a deep sense of reverence for our roots.
The narration stands out as the show's strongest pillar - it's poetic yet powerful, guiding the audience through layers of morality, politics, and destiny. Every dialogue feels like it carries the weight of centuries, yet remains deeply human.
What makes this content truly amazing is the way it balances history and emotion. The creators haven't just retold the story - they've reimagined it visually and emotionally, giving depth to every character, from warriors to kings to sages. The attention to detail, the authenticity in costumes, and the musical score elevate the experience beyond typical historical dramas.
The richness of history itself becomes the show's biggest hero - and the makers have handled it with unmatched dignity. It's rare to see such devotion in storytelling today, and Kurukshetra proves that mythology, when told right, can be as thrilling and profound as any modern saga.
Verdict: A masterpiece in narration, emotion, and history. For anyone who believes stories of the past still shape our present, Kurukshetra is a must-watch.

"Kurukshetra" is an ambitious animated retelling of the Mahabharata, focusing on the perspectives of 18 warriors during the great war. The storytelling is bold and emotionally rich, showing not just the battles but the inner conflicts of each character.
Visually, the series offers some breathtaking war sequences and a grand scale, though the animation quality and character detailing can feel uneven at times. Gulzar's narration adds poetic weight and depth, setting the tone beautifully, but some of the other voice performances fall a bit flat.
Despite pacing issues and occasional confusion for newcomers to the epic, "Kurukshetra" succeeds in reimagining a timeless tale with heart and ambition. It's a fresh, dark, and visually engaging take that promises even greater things for Part 2.
Verdict: A must-watch for mythology and animation lovers - not flawless, but definitely powerful and worth your time.

Mind-blowing visuals, epic scenes.
Action and background score excellent.
Krishna's scenes are good.
After few minutes it feels like watching a live-action movie.
Each character background story nicely explained.
Try to watch in Hindi.
Voice over can be better with known artists.
9 episodes 2hr 30 min.
They should release in Theaters.

⭐ Kurukshetra (2025) - A Masterpiece That Redefines Indian Mythology
Rating:(10/10)
Kurukshetra is not just a show - it's an experience.
Netflix has delivered something truly extraordinary: an animated retelling of the Mahabharata that feels both ancient and futuristic at once.
Every episode carries a pulse - a rhythm of emotion, war, and wisdom.
The storytelling through 18 warriors and 18 days of battle is pure genius. Each perspective adds depth, heartbreak, and power to a tale we thought we already knew.
The animation is breathtaking - a blend of Indian art, cinematic lighting, and anime-style motion that feels alive.
And then there's Gulzar's narration - his voice doesn't just tell the story, it sings the soul of it.
Every word, every pause hits you right in the heart.
The background score, the moral intensity, the voice acting - everything comes together to create something unforgettable.
This isn't just mythology retold - it's mythology reborn for a global audience.
If you believe in stories that go beyond time, that question destiny, duty, and human emotion - Kurukshetra will leave you speechless.
Netflix India has raised the bar with this one.
A visual poem, a philosophical journey, and a cultural revolution in animation.
🔥 My Verdict: 10/10 - An epic that will be remembered for generations.

Kurukshetra on Netflix is a breathtaking modern adaptation of the Mahabharata that blends myth, philosophy, and human emotion with cinematic brilliance. From the very first episode, the storytelling feels both epic and intimate - staying true to the ancient tale while adding a fresh visual and emotional depth.
The main highlight comes in Episode 2, when Lord Krishna makes his first major appearance. His entry is powerful, serene, and commanding - a perfect balance of divine wisdom and human warmth. The dialogues are deeply philosophical yet relatable, and the actor portraying Krishna brings an aura that feels timeless. The calm confidence in his eyes and the subtle smile during key moments give goosebumps.
The cinematography, music, and background score elevate every scene, especially during Krishna's moments of guidance and foresight. The battlefield visuals are stunning, and the moral undertones are delivered with clarity and grace.
While a few pacing issues appear in the early parts, the narrative quickly gains momentum, leading to a truly immersive experience.
In short: Kurukshetra is a must-watch for anyone who loves epic storytelling with soul. The Krishna arc alone is worth the watch - divine, thought-provoking, and unforgettable.

A show truly worthy of a perfect 10 in every aspect! Mahavatar Narsimha set the stage, but this series has taken it several steps further - blending stunning animation, modern fight sequences, and trending visual styles to retell these timeless stories for today's generation
Though I had already heard about 90% of these tales, that remaining 10% - especially the Jayadrath episode - genuinely surprised me. I love how the series unfolds in the same order as the Kurukshetra war, making it fascinating to realize that nearly 80% of the destruction took place in the last nine days
The storytelling is compelling, emotional, and beautifully crafted. I couldn't help but shed tears during the Abhimanyu episode. Much love to the creators - we need more such perspectives and narrations of our epics
Can't wait for the next nine episodes to drop. Love how each episode is designed in a non-linear yet immersive way.

The story revolves around the battle fought between kauravs and pandavas on kurukshetra soil. It highlights what is Dharma and its opposite and how despite politics and brainstorming the fine line is never crossed and Dharma wins.
There are numerous stories which stitch together into this mythological epic. It is a delight to witness each of it.
Kauravs lost-Pandavas won, it's not that easy. Arjun's doubt, Fate of Abhimanyu and Bhim's son. Their stories show it was not one sided battle. I like how Netflix portrayed it.
My only complaint is that why Netflix dint produce entire epic and just the war that too pending for completion. Also what verse Krishna says to Arjun while showing his virat roop (Ok I can unsee that as internet is flooded with it).
I firstly hated Mahabharata, but except for a few things I now admire it, what an epic!
Final Verdict: Do watch it, you may be surprised to know few new things like me.

India's history has always been a treasure chest of powerful stories, but Netflix's Kurukshetra unlocks that legacy with an intensity and brilliance rarely seen on screen.
This isn't just another retelling of the Mahabharata - it's a breathtaking fusion of history, philosophy, and human emotion. The storytelling is layered and intelligent, capturing not only the grandeur of war but also the fragile humanity behind every warrior.
The direction is absolutely stunning - from the haunting visuals of the battlefield to the subtle moments of silence between moral conflicts. Every frame feels crafted with purpose. The performances are extraordinary; each actor embodies their role with depth, grace, and conviction.
The writing deserves special praise - dialogues are poetic yet powerful, echoing timeless truths while feeling completely fresh. The music and background score elevate every scene, giving it both epic scale and emotional resonance.
Netflix has truly outdone itself - this series doesn't just entertain; it awakens. It reminds us that Kurukshetra is not just a battlefield in time, but a mirror reflecting the eternal struggle within us all.
A cinematic triumph - bold, spiritual, and unforgettable.
Highly recommended to anyone who loves mythology, history, or simply great storytelling.

Most of the reviews here have been written by one sided Bhakts, but this retelling does something new and interesting which most people have yet to notice.
Mahabharat is retold even today cause the Pandavs had a worthy adversary in the Kuravas. Agreed they were in the wrong on many fronts but the Kuravas fought the battle as true warriors who lived and died by the sword.
On the contrary the Pandavs on the instructions of Krishna, cheated and deceived at every opportunity presented to them cause that was Dharma?
What is the moral of the Story? God(Krishna) tells us be good and do good, but when things are difficult its ok to be adharmic.
By this logic, if i am Hungry, robbing a bank is Dharam.
Should Dharam be a matter of convenience or should it be a moral compass to guide and shape society?
The only character worthy of praise and adulation is Karna, despite his adversities he never wavers from his beliefs, his friendship, his loyalty, knowing he will fail, never gives into despair. A true role model, the most charitable person, the hardest working person, the most unrelenting person, if every indian lived up to half of Karan, our society would transform over night.
What the show does interestingly is show the merits of Kuravas, instead of making them mockable childish villains.
The greatest lesson from Mahabharat is there are no Heroes no villains and no victors in war, only losers.
The tales of Mahabharat never seize to amaze and ignite my imagination. But the Animation disappoints yet again. I see better new anime from MAppa every 4 Weeks which people dont care about and forget, with 100 times more care and skill of animation.
Story telling - 10/10 Animation - 2/10 Total score - 12/20 = 6/10
Cheers.

My wife and I have been watching Kurukshetra on Netflix, and while the animation and production quality are impressive, the storytelling approach makes it difficult to follow unless you're already familiar with the Mahabharata.
The series attempts a bold retelling of the 18-day war through the eyes of 18 different warriors. This concept is ambitious and adds depth to individual characters, but it also results in frequent shifts in time, perspective, and backstory. For viewers who don't already know who's who - which side each character is on, and how they're related - the narrative can feel disjointed and confusing.
The constant switching between scenes and timelines breaks the flow and makes it hard to stay engaged. A more linear or guided structure might have helped maintain interest and clarity.
That said, the animation is beautifully done, blending traditional Indian motifs with modern anime aesthetics. Gulzar's narration is a standout feature, adding emotional weight and poetic rhythm to the series. The voice acting, however, is uneven some performances lack the emotional depth needed to match the gravity of the story.
In short, Kurukshetra is a visually rich and ambitious adaptation, but it's best suited for viewers who already have a strong grasp of the Mahabharata. For others, it may feel overwhelming and hard to follow.

Kurukshetra beautifully narrated the timeless story of the Mahabharata, capturing every crucial event that leads to the devastating war which claimed millions of lives. It offers a profound reflection on how human emotions-rage, envy, and pride-can spiral into destruction. The series reminds us how selfishness and spite can deeply impact not just ourselves but also our children, ultimately leading to our own Kurukshetra.
In today's world, intolerance has become a common phenomenon we continue to struggle against. This series compels us to reflect on the consequences of walking the path of vengeance and how it ultimately leads nowhere.
Neeche bhumi, upar nakshatra hain-yeh Kurukshetra hain. A line that resonates deeply, reminding us that each day we face our own battles, and perhaps, through understanding, we can learn to stop the daily Kurukshetra we are all going through.

The series brings the legendary epic to life with breathtaking visuals, powerful performances, and an engaging narrative that keeps you hooked from the very first episode. Every detail, from the grand battle sequences to the emotional depth of the characters, has been crafted with excellence, making it both visually stunning and emotionally moving. "Kurukshetra" is a truly wonderful animated series that bravely attempts to retell the epic Mahabharata from a unique and fresh perspective. The series is a compelling must-watch for its ambition, its thought-provoking themes, and its successful storytelling, despite some notable flaws in its execution.
The show's greatest strength lies in its concept: exploring the 18-day war through the eyes of 18 different warriors. This approach brings a new layer of personal dilemma and moral complexity to a story many are familiar with, making it feel fresh and engaging. The narrative is powerful, and the series does a commendable job of capturing the emotional intensity and moral conflicts of the epic.
However, the 9/10 rating suggests that while the series is wonderful, it is not without its imperfections. A major weakness is the animation quality and character depth. The animation, while competent, could have been deeper and more distinct, with the facial features of some key characters lacking the emotional range needed to make them stand out. Similarly, the character introductions could have been more profound, as some figures are portrayed as one-dimensional without the internal conflict that makes them truly compelling.
Despite these shortcomings, the series is an absolute must-watch. Its wonderful storytelling, fresh perspective, and powerful themes are more than enough to overcome the flaws in animation and character depth, making for a truly memorable and engaging experience.

Animation quality standards are set really high by Mahavatar Narasimha so animation alone cannot be the criteria to judge this series however not to forget that character s lacked emotional depth on their faces. This show is gripping and fast paced, though the writers have taken some cinematic liberty to dramatize the events unfolded in Mahabharat for example the Shikhandi episode. Rest it's a decent show.

The two TV series already made on Mahabharata are still best. Cartoons are for children not for mature or realistic viewing. Cartoons are overdramatic and OTP, therefore when you watch this you miss the realism ov the TV shows and human retelling of the great epic.
On a positive the later episodes are good especially the dialogues and the scenes post pandava victory.

When I was a kid, I not only heard the story of Mahabharata throughout my childhood but also saw multiple renditions of the story in various serials, but this... This is something else. I don't think I have seen such a beautiful representation of the whole storyline encapsulated in 18 episodes.
I have cried, I have smiled, I have felt angry, all while watching this show. This has been a phenomenal experience.

Kurukshetra was really good. There are a few gatekeepers who find faults in everything. The makers clearly mentioned that cinematic liberties have been taken maybe that's your cue to stop watching. Yet, you continue to watch and complain. It's a good series with a lot of lessons from Krishna himself. If you're going to nitpick, maybe just stick to reading books and let this be.
