Maybe this series would be better if scenography came into real life.
Now we're showing the school in Poland in 1980. Between skyscrapers from 2024?! Any school in Poland doesn't looks like this! What's wrong with you guys? Are you creating our country like Moscow?
This series took us into 1970/1999 before to income Europe Union! Incoming into a new world i don't want to be there.
That series presents us as a post-communist country.
No way is not Poland today!
For example, smoking inside is prohibited.
That's just the series not real! My friends from Western Europe asked me what had happened?

I'm Polish, so I'm watching it in the original. The only thing I hear is swearing. I'm not particularly prudish when it comes to profanity-I'm a millennial after all-but this is just excessive and irritating.
The directing is terrible. It feels like a collection of disconnected scenes, more like a music video than a cohesive narrative, which makes it hard to get into the plot. There's no sense of flow.
If it weren't for Kozuchowska being such a great actress-and actually, most of the cast are great actors (except, here, shockingly, Jacek Poniedzialek, who normally is great actor)-it would be completely unwatchable.
And honestly, even with them, it's barely watchable, but at least, thanks to their performances it doesn't give you secondhand embarrassment.
And finally, as in 90% of Polish productions, you can't understand what people are saying. Unless it's "kurwa," "jebany".

Lots of swearing, and some violence, - the titular heroine is brilliant - she has that kittenish appeal of someone who is rich, naive and everyone accommodated her and then reality of what her world was like. The music is high energy rap, and it is bad, then good, but always entertaining. I am totally a fan of the series because the actress who plays An!ela is incredible. It might be seen as a failure but I love it - so there. Once in a while you need to drop your critical pose and rate with your heart. I will say that there are a lot of stereotypes however, there is a lot of kickass feminism which I love!!!
The TV show was a thrilling rollercoaster, masterfully directed with each scene crafted to perfection. The actors delivered authentic and captivating performances, making the characters relatable and engaging. The story was filled with exciting twists and thought-provoking themes, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. My wife was deeply moved and inspired to help kids facing real-world issues depicted in the show. Local cultural references added authenticity, enriching the storytelling and providing a sense of context. Overall, the show was a fun, inspiring, and memorable experience, offering entertainment and insight into important issues.
I've to admit, at the beginning, I was going to drop the show, especially during the second episode. The cuts are sometimes confusing and the dialogue is sometimes hard to understand, with characters talking a bit too fast and with some weird reactions. The story and plot are not tight either. However, the lead actress is fascinating! She's the main reason I continued watching. Stunning acting skills! And her addressing the audience is a nice touch! The story gets better in the middle, and the social commentary gets more prominent and clear. The ending could've been executed in a better way with more revelations, but nothing is quite typical in this show. It's worth watching and it's refreshing.
